Your Wiki Wants You!
Currently, the wiki needs some assistance. Its growth on Skyrim is growing steadily, but I feel that it should be noted that we assist the wiki. We should all take an effort to add new information to the wiki from our game experiences or game guides (Please refrain from scanning them, though).
For example, today I was in Reachwater Rock, south-east of Markarth, and I could find nothing to assist me on the cave over the Internet. So I had to tough through it myself and I finally did it. I just recently made a poor but basic edit to the wiki, found here. It adds some basic information of related quests, loot, and the main points of it. Of course, it is very weak and bare bones, but I can't imagine it hurting the wiki.

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
Full right. If you meet an NPC or visit a location that does not have a wiki article, and should, you can either post the info on the Forums (I guess here will do, I was going to create a thread for that purpose after my exams finished, as I can't put much editing time in at the moment) and I'll try and edit it over onto the wiki or head on over to the wiki and add it yourself. At the moment, the aim of the Wiki is getting all the basics covered ASAP, anyone can help, and later editors will go through and verify and fix up everything, so don't worry if you have little experience editing or if you are unsure if what you're doing is right. There are also a bunch of mentors on the wiki who will be happy to help you I'm sure.

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
Good thread, as I made my first contributions today, and am in the process of adding more info as we speak. Like Kes and Duruza said, if you have anything at all, feel free to contribute. Have a good screenshot and know of wiki page missing an image, put it up. Know an alternative to complete a quest that hasn't been mentioned, tell us. Every little bit helps.

I've really been wanting to, but first I need to familiarize myself with the markup language.

I can add stuff for you if you have things to share but don't know how. There are also some links you might like to check out (like this one). I learned by going to pre-existing pages and looking at how they were constructed. Making changes and using show preview to see what they did without actually editing the page.

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
I have added:
I'm not particularly skilled in Wiki editing, but it's enough to get the info out there. I messed up my first picture, but another editor cleaned it up for me. My walk through I just posted will probably have details added to it, as well as better formatting. As long as you make the effort that's what counts.

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
Is it ok to post information gathered from the game guide? Granted it's never 100% correct depending on character/race/gender you play and things change per game but it's a very good starting point!

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
It is most certainly okay to post info from the Game Guide, like I say, all the help we can get. Many hands make light work and all
.
I guess mostly, focusing on getting walkthroughs for the quests up and descriptions of NPCs and Locations are the main priorities in my eyes, so if you have the time, head on over. It's easier for 'full-time' editors to check your work and undo/edit it if necessary, than to do it all themselves.

I've found the Paralysis Poison recipe but not quite sure where to put it and with what formatting.
Briar Heart
Swamp Fungal Pod
And, sadly, I didn't think to write down where I found it.

Thanks for the though!
Those effects are already listed on the Ingredients Page, however, they could also be listed on the yet to be constructed Paralysis page along with other ingredients that give the Paralysis effect.

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
Indeed. Too bad the wiki has been off the rails for at least 24 hours now.
On a side-note, OP: "southeast" is a word. A hyphen is only required if you wish to specify even further, such as "east-southeast" or "north-northwest". Just a good thing for any editors to keep in mind.

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
I'd love to help with the wiki. The problem is that the time I find to put toward Skyrim I want to put toward playing the game itself. Plus I'm not currently checking the wiki for most stuff so I can avoid spoilers. Maybe in December, before the Christmas'ers get it, I'll make some edits.

I'll try to put my Guide to good use. I can probably handle a lot of the quest pages.
Because there's no fun to be found in being normal.

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
I don't know if you are taking any screenshots, but if you do, that's one way to contribute. If you have a screen shot that you think is pretty good, of a character, place, item, etc, it may be worth just checking the wiki to see if the page has a picture. That seems to be a good way to contribute without gleaning too many spoilers.azuarc wrote:I'd love to help with the wiki. Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
This thread inspired me.
I've played the first quest "Unbound" about twenty times now trying to get a rough idea on how i'd like my character to be, so i know it pretty well and am finished with it. So today i made my first wiki edit and worked on the quest page a little. Hope it's good. Wish the whole site wasn't so sluggish at the moment, makes working it a little painful.

Glad to hear it. Every little bit helps. And I just looked at that quest page and it looks good. Keep it up!

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
I don't know if anyone has copied it but:
Slow: Deathbell, Large Antlers, River Betty, Salt Pie
Frenzy: Blisterwort, Falmer Ear, Fly Amantia, Hagraven Feathers, Human Heart, Troll Fat
Invisibility: Chaurus Eggs, Crimson Nirnroot, Ice Wraith Teeth, Luna Moth Wing, Nirnroot, Vampire Dust
Fortify Heavy Armor: ice Wraith Teeth, Sabre Cat Tooth, Slaughterfish Scales, Thistle Branch, White Cap
Paralysis: Briar Heart, Canis Root, Human Flesh, Imp Stool, Swamp Fungal Pod
Also it would take time but I can retype the ingredients and what they do the book has them listed a bit so you don't have to taste every ingredient. It is a good money maker though once you make the good potions

Re: Your Wiki Wants You!
Since we all love M'aiq the Liar, and since I sprung for the hardcover Collector's Edition of the Guide, I do believe I can hammer out all of M'aiq's quotes. Should I do it here, or register on the Wiki and edit it in?
EDIT: Nvm, i was too slow. ^^;
