List of ideas for mods
Ready your blenders, nifskopes, and creation kits.
What mods are you planning to make for skyrim?
As soon as I figure out how to script well, then I would like to make some quest mods.

Re: Ready your blenders, nifskopes, and creation kits.
I would, if I could, make a mod that makes the 3rd person camera better when not in a fight (zooming, anyone?), unless of course if this is already a possibility on the PC.
EDIT: Nvm - it is already in the game.

Re: List of ideas for mods
Will you be adding the suggestions here on the official forums?
If so,
-Headshots/Locational Damage.
Quoting My other thread:
-More perks
-Dual handed charged ice spells freeze enemies like the freezing shout
-Security Improved (I've written up like 6 paragraphs on Oblivs security system but haven't posted it yet).
-Lots more. I'm bored now.

Quoting My other thread:
Quoted from another Thread:I could think of a way right off the bat to make it immersive.DerangedPickle wrote:There never really has been locational damage TES, it would, i'm assuming be too complex to make the feature for the occasional one-shot kill headshot that looks awesome.
However I do think that because arrows are a lot less common in Skyrim it could be a good feature.
Have a special arrow which is very expensive and rare. This arrow is the only kind that has the power to pierce the skull thus it has an immense headshot damage multiplier.
OR
Helmets prevent headshots so it would only work on enemies without one or animals. You will know to wear a helmet whenever you encounter an archer, and they might too. Only thing is you need to catch them off guard
You could even craft a system in which a helmet offers 100% protection against headshots from any arrows of that material or lower. Arrows from a superior metal will have a small chance of scoring a headshot, and this chance increases with factors such as sneak attack, bow, and even higher arrow types.
I'd really like to see some kind of spell that allows you to knock off other people's helmet so that you can score headshots.
OR
Headshot-capable-ness could be a perk and could be something you cannot abuse or overuse. Some mechanics I can conjure up right now are: Charge up (draw bow even more) to score headshot, headshots only from behind, sneak attack required, required arrow/bow type, or a certain shout/spell must be in effect in order for it to work.
Perks don't have to be realistic
It could work with spells and swords as well. Maybe if you score a power attack with certain weaponry and manage to hit the head, it could result in a decapitation or instant kill (this actually might be in the game because I saw a similar finishing move)b3rgx wrote:Exactly. Good point.
If it was in, what would it affect?
Swords? Spells? Or just arrows?
If i hit a guy in the head with a sword or axe, would it be an instant kill? Same goes for spells. If it was just for arrows, what's the point? Wouldn't that overpower arrows?
It just doesn't fit in a game like this.
With spells, you could have a slightly different system:
Electric spells score headshots that don't result in an instant kill, but stun and disorient the enemy.
Frost spells stop the enemies muscles from moving resulting in a brain freeze (paralysis) given the spell is strong enough and maybe a probablity system could play a part in it
Fire spells blast the victim back and the sustained fire damage could do more damage per second than normal (ex instead of 10dmg/second you would have 15dmg/second if the head is lit)
-BirthsignsFast Travelling Should Cost Money
Lots of it, too. Not only that, but depending on the location, the time should also change a considerable amount.
Now suppose fast travel took lots of money - say, 1,000 to 10,000 coins depending on the location (more for places that have dangerous paths). This way, players at a lower level will be forced to explore Skyrim until they have enough money or are a high enough level. By that time, they will have already explored Skyrim enough so that fast travel makes sense - going to the same locations over and over just becomes tedious work.
Now, something more. What if every time you visited an area without fast travel, the price of fast travelling to that location decreased? This would create a natural way of balancing the costs of different locations' fast travel prices.
If it costed money, not only would players think twice before fast travelling, but would also plan our their journey even more, and multi-task. If I needed to buy something from location A and use it in Location B and return to Location C - which happens to be close to location A - to sell some other goods, I would fast travel to location A, travel to location C, then fast travel to location B. A very bad example, but you know what I mean.

Re: List of ideas for mods
Just a couple of little tweaks to make life easier.
- Sorting options for inventory (manual sorting, and especially "sort by weight")
- Ability to sort stuff manually in containers
- a Drop All function (drops everything in currently open directory, so the opposite of Take All)
- Left-Right combinations for hotkeying stuff (ie. one favorite governs what's in both hands. I think they mentioned something like this in a GiantBomb Skyrim video.)

Mod Requests
1. 1st person camera when riding your mount
I know everyone is quite split on this. But personally I prefer to be in 1st person when riding my horse. So a mod to change this would be great.
2. In-game holidays
By holidays I mean the holidays of the year as per the games law. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Calendar#Holidays
I assume Skyrim like Oblivion if the date is any of these holidays, nothing in game seems to change? As far as I can tell anyway

Some more possible spouses. I was looking at the list, and kind of disappointed. I want some more elves! It's predominantly nords, which, yeah, I get for the game, but having more options would be nice.

Re: List of ideas for mods
I won't make it, but it'd be nice if someone made a mod that extended the landmass out to the horizon like in Oblivion. If you look from the top of High Hrothgar you'll notice Skyrim is a giant rectangle and there's nothing beyond the mountains, whereas in Oblivion the land spread out for a few km.
Now, what I WILL be making is a Chris-Chan quest. It'll involve fighting through a troll-infested castle to kill a witch named "Maria".
Minibosses along the way will be Tito , Thorg, and Clyde. (Tito and Clyde will need to be renamed to fit their races).
I'll try to get Chris to do voice acting for his character as well, but since he's lazy it probably won't happen. A lot of trolls do a good Chris impression though.

Re: List of ideas for mods
I like the CWC quest idea, but, personally, I think it would be interesting if there were a mod quest involving Pale Pass, which seems to be blocked off by a rather large gate, even though it's technically as much a part of Skyrim as it is a part of Cyrodiil.
Since it's very close to Helgen, and that Stormcloak fortress, the Akaviri ruins would be a good place to stuff that dragon from the intro sequence. Think of that, a dragon in a cramped fortress, how could that be any more awesome for a battle?

Re: List of ideas for mods
First off: QUIT ASKING FOR BIRTHSIGNS, THEY ARE IN THE GAME, they have just been changed into something you find ingame and isnt set in stone.
Second off: Here is the mod I thought about while playing my thief/assassin character, its basically a mod for "More Bounty Options" instead of just "pay" and "go to jail" and "DIEEEEEEEE"
1. Intimidate
An option to intimidate the guard, such as saying "I CAN BREAK THESE CUFFS!"
Pros: Don't have to pay money
No skill lose
Cons:
If it fails, the guard attacks you (and if there are more around they will help)
Its a gamble
2. Persuade
An option to persuade the guard to look the other way, such as "-sniffle sniffle- i didnt mean to.."
Pros:
No money lose
Wont get attacked
Cons:
If it fails, you are sent to jail with no option
another gamble
3. Blackmail
You blackmail the guard, such as "I HAZ PICTUREZ OF YOU I WILL PUT ON THE INTERWEBZ"
Pros:
Dont have to pay anything
wont get attacked
Higher chance at succeeding
Cons:
If it fails, you go to jail and your bounty is raised by (x) amount
If it fails, the con to it is worse than some other options
4. Torture, you decide to just go to the dungeons and be tortured
Pros:
No jail time
Dont have to fight anyone
Dont have to pay anything
Cons:
You will get a debuff (labled as disease so people make comments about you not looking good) that increases your damage taken for a week ingame, good for thieves and assassins, bad for adventurers.
If possible, you will get scars all over your body for the week (not sure if people can do that, I am not a modder myself so thats why I am putting it on here in the first place XD)
5. "Working man/lady" options, "HEY THUR HANDSOME" (no gender restraints)
Pros:
No jail time
No gold to pay
Cons:
For every (x, about 1000 i would say) gold you get a chance to gain a disease (Example: You have a 10,000 bounty, every 1,000 with a x% chance to give a disease, you are unlucky and end up getting 6 diseases out of the possible 10, raising of the gold due to "partying with more guards")
Gamble
6. Brawl, you challenge the guard to a brawling contest
Pros/Cons: Normal brawl rules apply, you win you are set free, you lose you go to jail
7. Community service, you do jobs around town to pay off your bounty
Pros:
No jail time
No various bad things such as diseases and such
Cons:
Takes some time depending on your bounty level
May be boring depending on the person
8. Quest, you do a quest for the guard(s) and so you are set free
Pros:
Make money
Make lewtz
Cons:
Takes long
Harder than most other choices
9. Execution, if your bounty is ridiculously high you will be sentenced to death and have to make a last minute escape or die
Pros:
Fun
If you are a member of a criminal based guild (DB/TG) they will help you out
Cons:
Difficult
If you do escape, your bounty will stick unless you pay it off
10. Arena fight, you fight other prisoners for your freedom, to the death.
Pros:
Fun
Potential for skill point boosts (through fighting of course)
Lewtz
Cons:
Losing means death
Counts toward your murder count (doesnt raise a bounty)
Not all that easy
Yay for more options! I am not a modder so I would need someone else to do this, as for voice acting it shouldnt be to hard to find some sound files with fitting conversations

I'd be hanging out for a Mod that fleshed out the Thalmor and gave them a major questline, but maybe Bethesda will do this themselves eventually.

I'd love to see a way for the Arch Mage to return the college to it's previous glory. Before half a city fell into the sea they were very nicely seen upon. Now everyone hates them. I'd like to be able to change it. Saving Winterhold or something.
I'd also love to see more spells.

Winterhold Rebuilt?
Duru, you do realize this would incline the player not only to basically become Thane of Winterhold (getting the crown, helping the three citizens), but also a massive project of looking into lore of what Winterhold used to be like?
But I'd like a mod that'll expand on Post-Civil War Skyrim.
Where you can continue working for the Stormcloaks or the Imperial Legion and maintaining 'order' in Skyrim.

There is plenty of Lore on Winter Hold, in fact, I would say there is more than there was on Kvatch. I could see someone like Giskard doing wonders with a project like that.

Re: List of ideas for mods
And - what would the rebuilding entail?
For Kvatch the interest was that this was the 'Second Imperial City' - the only other city to possess an are arena and you control it.
Winterhold has its ruler and you're more like a second-hand man than a ruler. Most things you get is a weapon, and a title to show off to the other Skyrim-citizens.
But, perhaps, we could make it more interesting by adding the aspect of the civil war. (Being Thane and ultimately deciding whether the Imperial Legion or Stormcloaks should have a presence in Winterhold. Train them, and etc)

Re: List of ideas for mods
Well, perhaps it could be related more to the Collage? The Mages might devise a way to raise Winter Hold back (the land that is) from the depths, regaining the favour of the locals? Form that point, you'd actually have to rebuild the city, and in my eyes, becoming Jarl would not be that important, perhaps just becoming Thane.

Re: List of ideas for mods
Well - it'd all depend on the College as well. (As the College is very secular under its Arch-Mage and his Altmer buddy)
And since the College is somewhat strange to the whole city going under - it'd take some pretty good justifications as to how they could do it.

Re: List of ideas for mods
Actually, I've been thinking about it, and I think there is even the potential to involve the Dunmer in the recreation/rebuilding of Winter Hold, seeing as they had such close ties to the city originally anyway. Clearly the Dunmer are not happy in Windhelm, so I guess it wouldn't be too great a stretch to have them establish in a rebuilt Winter Hold. Hmm, my head is filling with ideas on the matter.
