Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
This is kind of not news
It was explained before, just search on "radiant story".
The one-shot non-story quests would generate based on where you haven't been before, how your skills are leveled, what standing you have with fractions, etc.. The story arc quests are supposed to adapt a little as well.
Why would the world stop generating quests for you at some point?

That sounds crazy. I can't wrap my head around it, but I can't wait to try.....I have to wait until Sunday to play....It is going to be a long weekend.

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
Think of it as how they did it for Arena or Daggerfall. Both had infinite quests. It's not impossible, though it is more complicated in the modern day and age I'd imagine.

Yes I know what you mean, this just sort of confirms it, I never knew that the guilds had unlimited quests, That was something Oblivion always did anoy me about, too few quests.SuperNull wrote:This is kind of not newsIt was explained before, just search on "radiant story".

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
In Daggerfall, it was basically a matter of "go to dungeon X, and kill monster Y" or "bring me back object Z".
In other words, quests of the "Fedex" or "Kill Foozle" types
Since the DUNGEONS (and many towns) were randomly generated too, these really did result in quests which were quite different from each other to play, though.
I have no doubt that in Skyrim they'll be more numerous in type and more complex... but undoubtably, once you've played the same quest template a couple times, you'll recognize it when it comes up again. Still, as long as it's interesting to do that's not necessarily a bad thing.
After all, what is work in real life but a small number of quests repeated over and over with minor variations in circumstances?

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
I really hope they expand the options a little in the implementation. For instance: I'd love to be able to join the Campanions and get some mercenary type work for gold without necessarily rising in the ranks of the guild. Thieves guild is the same, I'd love to take contract work to steal stuff, but I don't necessarily want to become the leader of the faction.
If you have to become the faction leader to get the infinite quests I will be disappointed

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
Proberbly will have to be the leader, anoying really, but you could just roleplay your not the leader.

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
I hope it's not like InFamous where they favoured quantity over quality. The majority of quests in that were linear. If the same thing happened to Skyrim, I can imagine going to ten different innkeepers who will want me to kill x amount of bandits at location y

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
by "infinite" "quests" I have a feeling they mean redundant tasks as opposed to unique quests with unique dialogue. sure, it may seem kewl at first, after a while, it may get annoying, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
As long as the quests aren't too generic, then this could be great.
There will more than likely be mods created to add new objectives to the random quest cycle too.

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
Hopefully it isn't like this:
Quest 1: Go destroy (something) cave.
Quest 2: Fetch (number) of (ingredient) for me.
Quest 3: Go destroy (something) cave.
And so on and so forth...

Re: INFINTE QUESTS!
I don't care if its go here, kill this, etc, at least its something to do, Oblivion felt very empty after doing all the quests
