A high end PC can output to an HDTV via HDMI or DVI port.
A high end PC really isn't going to be it's worth in the scale of how much better the quaility will be. Seriously, unless you have your high end PC sitting right next to your XboX360/PS3... you ain't gonna notice sweet F A difference. Certainly not worth the cost of a new high end PC setup if you already have a console.
"Oooooh the mods, the mods they say!"
Mod this
Spoiler:
Ironically, I didn't consider this post a flame until that last bit. I'll be watching now, you can count on that.
Also I hear that the PS3 version is very pretty. Any truth to this? I'm still in two minds about which of these platforms I'll get it for.
"All right people, we created this multi-billion dollar facility under Cheyenne Mountain so that we can use this thing. Anyone know how?"
If you play Morrowind on a modern PC you notice the following: You can play on all-max settings and load times are instant, even on a cheap rig.
If you want to play Morrowind for the XBox, you need discontinued hardware and the game will be running just as heavy as it did when it was new.
I can understand buying console games for the quick thrill, however, if you are a real fan who will replay a lot then it's an other matter.....

I was looking at leaked footage from PS3 this morning and it looks beautiful. Freaking beautiful. I think it comes down to personal preference. I have a high-end PC and I do a lot of gaming on that machine.. but a lot of my Elder Scrolls experience has been on console and I kinda like sitting on my couch and just playing the game. That's why I'm going PS3 for my first experience with the game. I say that because I have no doubts that I'll pick up the PC version as well sometime in 2012 just so I can have the experience with mods, of which I am sure there will be a ton by the time I pick it up.

I read that somewhere.. on another post.
Then I was reading this other post and THEY said the PS3 was 10,000X better than PC. So I think I will stick with the PS3... I mean according to those figures... it's 10 times better than PC.

F'n Morrowind... There's hope inside me that Skyrim doesn't live up to Morrowind fanboys deluded expectations of a Morrowind repeat, Skyrowind. Then we all get to listen to the never ending rants of the glory that was Morrowind... "Come on Skyrim... fail for them.. fail hard"
I am a real fan, from day dot. Arena.
I played Oblivion on console and will be doing the same with Skyrim.
I think the reason people like console that pc is because a console costs like 300 bucks, while a pc that can run skyrim costs like 600 dollars , and my current pc can't even run oblivion that well, its from 03 and cost 400 then.
Ahhh... but you missed the point.
Once the 360 and the PS3 will be discontinued then Skyrim and Oblivion for the consoles will be in the same position as Morrowind is now.
I admit this is not a huge problem for TES games as you re-buy the PC version later, but games that had a console-only release can become unplayable in time.
The Saint's Row franchise is alive and kicking for example, but your ability to play the first game depends on you having a 360.
