Resistance assistance!
Hey guys,
So Skyrim is coming out in a few days, and I preordered it a few months ago. However, It's getting sent to my relatives in Australia, and I live in Fiji. I'm going back to Australia next month for three months, though, so I'll be picking it up then. I was hoping to take my Xbox 360 back with me so I don't have to wait four months to play it while everyone else does, but my Dad doesn't want to take it back with us. So, I have decided to make a petition to change my Dad's mind so that I don't miss out on Skyrim for four months (which would be terribly sad as I've been greatly excited about it for around 10 months now.)
And Mods, if this is against the rules or in the wrong forum, then feel free to lock it.

How many votes do you need to be successful? Because I could... arrange multiple votes for you...
(No mods I would never make fake accounts for the purpose of voting in this thread)

Thanks guys!
Around 20 would probably have a good effect. He finds things like this funny, so my chances are high if I can get enough votes.ZeRoc wrote:How many votes do you need to be successful? Because I could... arrange multiple votes for you...

Im sorry but I'm not going to agree. A conflict between a father and son shouldn't be decided by the voice of others. If my children tried this Id personally see it as childish.
That being said whenever I traveled abroad with gaming equipment, customs can become bothersome. Being it dosen't involve TSA you may be okay and screening at a minimum.

Conflict or disagreement whatever it boils down too, you want one thing and your father disagrees. Call it what you will.Nevastar wrote:I wouldn't call it a conflict?Lynx2069 wrote:Im sorry but I'm not going to agree. A conflict between a father and son shouldn't be decided by the voice of others. Good luck with your endeavors and if my post seemed offensive I apologise but stand by my post. Childish was possibly a poor choice in words on my part.
My question is, other then wanting to play it as soon as possible what other reason do you have for taking the Xbox and are you willing to take full responsibility for the Xbox should something happen to it and replace it yourself.
Clever it may be, and while much more tasteful then simple begging it still not, at the very least, an unbiased crowd, its like polling the National Rifle Association on gun control.
Also why does Rynkar direct me too "his" first post when he didnt create the first post.

Don't get me wrong, I value your opinion, I just disagree. It's more of a fun thing to go along with my arguments to my dad. We have fun debate things like this often.Lynx2069 wrote:Conflict or disagreement whatever it boils down too, you want one thing and your father disagrees. I have plenty of other reasons as well. I just thought that not being able to play Skyrim would be more appalling to people on here than being bored or not being able to play with all my gaming friends. And yes, I was planning to take full responsibility.
Yeah, but I wasn't really asking or debating, it's a petition. It's a sign or don't sign thing. I just put the "nay" option there because I wasn't sure if a poll with one option was possible.

One word of advice, don't check it with your luggage. The cargo hold is well below freezing and not pressurized so any residual moisture could cause serious issues with the HDD or Motherboard. The temperature alone could cause flexing of the X-clamp or the motherboard itself. If you have to check it, remove all removable components especially the HDD and power supply.
Good luck and safe travels.

Yeah, I was thinking of putting in my carry-on luggage; seems safer.Lynx2069 wrote: Hehe, petition is the key word silly me.

Re: Resistance assistance!
might be easier just to mail it to yourself there, marked as electronics, may be a little more expensive, but it may also be safer and far less hassle, all electronics have to be turned on and proven they work (well here anywayz), and i doubt they are gunna have a tv handy for you to try it on, mailing it is far easier and; it doesnt expressly go against what ur father said, he said he didnt want you to "BRING IT WITH YOU" send it on its own

Re: Resistance assistance!
Nevastar, since I've been the only one to vocally disagree, let me say this doing something behind someones back despite what they've said could be, for lack of a better word, wrong. Especially through, put delicately, manipulation of one's actual phrase, despite knowing what the intent of the phrase was.Nevastar wrote:Brilliant idea. I'll look into it at once! Only you know what those consequences are. Just trying to be helpful, since youve been mature and polite. Horribly , off topic please excuse this.

My dad will find it funny. And if he still disagrees, I won't press it further.
