Shivering Isles PS3 GOTY problem.
Hello guys/gals! As much as I would hate to make my first post have me come off as a newb, I must post a question. I own the GOTY edition of Oblivion for PS3 and the Shivering Isles expansion has never loaded. I've searched the site (as well as many others!) and the only advice I can find is "Wait 24 in game hours and it will show up." I'm 127 real hours into the game, I'm level 25 and have completed the main quest and the KotN, which loaded fine and the quest to start the SI expansion never showed up! Is there a way to get this content to load without restarting the game? After 127 hrs, I've become attached to my character and would hate to have to start over. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Never happened to me before.
Try looking around niben bay somewhere in niben bay, near Bravil there is a strange island with a portal on it.

I should have mentioned that as well! There is no island in the bay. I've walked on the surface and swam beneath it from end to end, side to side. There is nothing there.

Erm have you slept?
After 24 hours in game I think you need to sleep to get it working.

Re: Shivering Isles PS3 GOTY problem.
Have you tried uninstalling the expansion? I know in the past people have had the same problem with both consoles. Usually sleeping for 72 hours gets the quest to update, but some people have had to uninstall the expansion, restart the system, clear the cache (on the 360), start up the game, save it, quit, and then reinstall again. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, some people have this problem with certain characters/playthroughs.

I have the PS3 GOTY disc. I think it's all supposed to load up at the start. I dunno. I'll probably just start a new character and just do SI. Sucks, but no big deal.

Same thing happened to me. Delete the PS3 install, all the saves except the most current one, and the settings file. Travel away from Niben Bay, before making your save you dont delete and avoid Niben Bay until the game reinstalls, it shouldn't take too long, you can hear the BD drive quit loading when it's done, then fast travel to Bravil. That should prompt the quest.Dread Zombie wrote:I have the PS3 GOTY disc. I think it's all supposed to load up at the start. I dunno. I'll probably just start a new character and just do SI. sounds like you might have to reinstall the game like the others have already mentioned
the quest is supposed to be recieved without actually doing anything to prompt it
just appears after a day of game time

You may try to start new character and then wait with this new one 24 ingame hours. At least you will know if the game is ok.
Lynx2069's idea looks good, try that.

Thanks for the info Lynx! I'll try that and try to power through SI before Friday! I can hardly wait for Skyrim!
