Can you run Skyrim?
Im seeing alot of posts asking if they can run the game. Since many of you might not know there is an webpage called Can You RUN It witch basically compares your PC Specs with the game ones.

Re: Can you run Skyrim?
From what I've read by examining my own specs with the specs required, I could possibly get away with playing Skyrim on my laptop. To be safe, I'll play it on the 360 and get it for the PC later. Why get the same game again for the PC? So I can screw around with the console, that's why.

I got "Fail"
and reached under minimum! Haha. Unfortunately my computer would actually be able to run the game, but the CPU is too slow.

Re: Can you run Skyrim?
Firefox all the way.
Hah! Just tested if I could run Oblivion (which I've been playing for over 300 hours on this machine) I got the same results as for Skyrim!
Perhaps I should buy Skyrim on the release day after all. Although I do not reach recommended sys reqs for Skyrim with anything but CPU speed and OS...

Hey i have run this and it says i pass the minimam requirements, but i would like a human opinion on whether its worth me getting it for pc, i would also be planning to record this for my youtube channel, which is why im considering it for pc in the first place.

Re: Can you run Skyrim?
Never!!! As long as u meet the requirements u will still run it about the same as on the 360 plus u can mod/console and upgrade later to blow xbox graphics away.born2beagator wrote:I meet minimum, but thats about it. So what should I do, Xbox instead?

I just half between recommended and required, I'm happy with that atm tho can't afford to upgrade right now in a month or so I will just buy a GTX 560Ti and crank up the graphics.

Re: Can you run Skyrim?
Yeah, but My comp is notorious for slowing down during games, plus my Xbox is on a 50 inch 1080p Flatscreen, as long as the graphics are close to what I have seen in the demos, I will be fine. Never really been one to mod either.

Re: Can you run Skyrim?
I don't think its accurate. I passed all the minimum settings, and every one of the recommended settings, except one: It said I failed the Video Card setting. It says I need a ATI Radeon HD 4890 with 1 GB RAM or higher, I have a ATI Radeon HD 5450 with 3.7 GB. Which it acknowledged.
So take its report with a grain of salt....

The way I understand it, the first digit on a Radeon card model is simply the number of times AMD re-labeled their same ol' low/mid-end series of GPUs.elsergio wrote:... Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Re: Can you run Skyrim?
The industry has a nasty habit of doing that, but no, not this time with AMD.Dark Spark wrote: The way I understand it, the first digit on a Radeon card model is simply the number of times AMD re-labeled their same ol' low/mid-end series of GPUs.
If you take some 6xxx card that has the same horsepower as some 5xxx card you get something that uses less electricity
The 5xxx series has features (like allowing you to use 3 screens) that the 4xxx series doesn't have.
If you are ONLY interested in the horsepower then yeah, you should ignore the numbering scheme.

Re: Can you run Skyrim?
I would say you will be fine on med/med-high settings and able to record ok. But you are on a laptop and I know nothing about them. I just simply refuse to game on a laptop, so mine is just a lil ol weak one with no chance of even thinking of running a game lol.Phil 231 wrote:plz can you guys help me out?Phil 231 wrote:Hey i have run this and it says i pass the minimam requirements, but i would like a human opinion on whether its worth me getting it for pc, i would also be planning to record this for my youtube channel, which is why im considering it for pc in the first place.
