Favourite Race
Re: Favourite Race
I was used to thinking a good character would be able to cure blight on self, which requires 100 magica points
lately, I've been using so many more items and so much less spells....3 potions will usually cover all infections i get before becomming immune

Re: Favourite Race
I wouldn't say their skill bonuses are balanced, definitely geared towards a fighter. Dark elf or Argonian yeah.

My favorite race is Argonian, so I always choose them in any TES game![]()
The real disadvantage of the Beast Races, as has already been mentioned, is their inability to wear boots, and additionally, closed helms. I say Boots primarily, because not only do you loose an enchantment slot and a small piece of your armour rating, but you cannot avoid levelling up Unarmoured, which can funnel Beast Races into specific areas.

I like the Dnumer the best, but Redguards, Bosmer, and Imperials are close behind.

Gotta go with Orc, there the masters of heavy armour, and berserker rage is an excellent perk. Plus i just like the feel of an orc, the gruntness and bash um mentality.

Uhh...
Why can't Argonians and Khjatt wear boots?
I personally like the Bretons, combined with the Mage birthstone. I tend to kick butt.

Look at their feet. Do you really think that Argonians and Khajiit can wear boots? They don't fit on their feet properly.

Definitely a Dunmer, Possibly because of the more at home feel i get when playing as one, and the voice of the Dunmer sounds much better...

I have to say Orc... Simply because of the brute strength and power these beasts bring to the table.
Though they may not be the smartest they kick ass and thats what I love about them. Strong, Enduring and Independant warriors

Re: Favourite Race
I don't know yet. My first character was a Bosmer archer (fun), the next one was a Dunmer assassin (R.I.P., my poor boy), and now I'm playing a Nord mercenary. I still need to check out the rest, though the ones I've tried so far are all great. Or would be if only my tough-as-nails Nord lady stopped wailing every time a rat bites her ankle...
Out of the three the Dunmer was the most enjoyable, but maybe it's just because I played him for a long time and managed to achieve a lot.

Re: Favourite Race
So, Morrowind was my first Elder Scrolls experience, and to this day is my favorite game. I chose Argonian because they looked the coolest but then I got so immersed with my character and the plight of my peoples. I was a thief who wore exquisite robes to pose as a noble to get in with the crowds then rob them blind to help fund my slave liberation efforts. Man do I miss the first playthrough, one of my greatest gaming experiences.
Now my main character in Oblivion and Skyrim is a Breton Necromancer, but I will always make my second character after my memorable Argonian thief.

Re: Favourite Race
Redguard!
My first time playing, I chose Redguard simply because I too have brown skin. No real strategy there. But it happened to work out perfectly in the end, because I tend in any RPG to play a very balanced character. The Redguard made combat easy from the get-go, then I specialized in magic but found myself using stealth skills alot. So I unintentionally ended up with a very balanced guy who didn't progress too quickly in a narrow set of skills, which I think increased my fun.
After Redguard, I'm just branching out into Breton and Dunmer. The Breton's got the magic bonuses without the weaknesses of the Altmer, where the Dunmer is relatively balanced from the start, which'll work well with my playing style.
First post, yay!

Red Guard- I am a "Cleave their head in two with a Claymore" kind of guy. Red Guard works perfectly with this approach.

The Altmer combined with the Atronach is a kickass character. That's why it's one of my favorite races, now.

(I'm more of a roleplayer, so I take it from that standpoint).
I really like playing as a Dunmer or an Argonian on Morrowind, and thus those are my favourite ones within that game. ^_^

Re: Favourite Race
In Morrowind, I'd have to say either Dunmer or Bosmer for their particular race attribute bonuses. Dunmer for a mage/ battlemage build, and Bosmer for a thief/ assassin. With the Bosmer's Shadow power (I actually can't remember the name at the moment
) there's practically nothing you can't steal at low levels.

Most of the time I'm more attuned to the brutes that are Nords.
My second character I just started is an Imperial. So far so good.
