Oh, I finished Dune the other day and started another book in the Dune series. I can't think of the name of it, but it was written in '08.

Re: The 'What are you reading at the moment' thread
Ah finally started on Edgar Allan Poe's works! I was waiting for this. Currently reading some of his poetry and after that I am switching to his tales, especially The Black Cat and the Masque of the Red Death. After that it's the Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket and that will be all.
Twice and twice shall he be marked, twice to live and twice to die.
Once the heron, to set his path. Twice the heron, to name him true.
Once the Dragon, for remembrance lost. Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay.

How is Son of Neptune? I read the preview of The Lost Olympian that was in the last Percy Jackson book and decided not to pick up the Heroes of Olympus series because it seemed to me like a rewrite of the P.J. series with different characters and a new setting.Arch-Mage Matt wrote:Just finished Heroes of Olympus: Son of Neptune now reading The Da Vinci Code.
I'm currently reading Anathem by Neal Stephenson. I've barely started and I'm already confused. I'll probably start over and try again.

CHERUB: Mad Dogs, what a wonderful series of fantastical, yet somewhat down-to-earth books, the character development and depth is superb and they're a really great read. This must be about the fourth time of reading.

Starting The Tin Drum by Günter Graß.
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.

I just started The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova. Psychology, a painting, and a mystery...not a bad mix!

I'm almost finished with The Folklore of Discworld. It's brilliantly interesting to see the parallels between our world and the Discworld.

Still reading that book, Niding. It's really nice. It's about a local king who commits a murder in sweden for about 950-1100 years ago and to repent, he must save the daughter of one of his allied kings. The daughter is taken to ireland so that's where he ends up... quite an adventure really... bloody...

I started "Oil, Power, & Empire" the other day. I'm a little over 50 pages into it. It seems good so far, maybe a little biased, but the info seems good so far.

I've also been told that The Fountainhead is exceptional. My cousins all read it together. Check that out later!ReeceH wrote:Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. So far it has been AMAZING.

The Left Hand of God by Paul Hoffman. Slow start, but I'm getting into it. Good so far.

Re: The 'What are you reading at the moment' thread
I didn't like it. Not to spoil anything, but by the end I had no idea of where and why. The whole book seems pointless.
