'Flyin'... Flyin' in the Sky... Cliff Racer flies so high... Flyin'...' - Aldos Othran, 3E 433
I genuinely believe that Othran, this unassuming Dunmeri citizen, could have become a icon in the Tamerielic music industry... if not throughout Akavir and the other far-flung and/or unknown lands and continents of Nirn. I mean, every note in his masterpiece - the 'Cliff Racer Song' - was perfect. It conjured emotion in even the toughest heart, and enticed the most introverted of people into singing along happily. The lyrics were perfect, giving a clear representation of Cliff Racer behaviour, in the package of an awesome beat and tone. A true work of art.
Although, the question was raised during my intense contemplation as to whether this was an original work... Could this perhaps be a tribal chant from his homeland of Morrowind, which his dazed mind turned to during lengthy periods of intoxication? Of course, it's entirely plausible that it was spawned purely from the thoughts of a drunken Dunmer, who's memories of the indigenous winged creatures of his native land brought about an uncontrolled chorus of unprecedented excellence...
And, as my final take on this, it could be that said song is already known to the people of the Empire, and all its domains! Given our collective lack of detailed knowledge on the matter of songs in the lands of Nirn, far and wide as they are, perhaps the 'Cliff Racer Song' was already in the minds of the public, in the pantheons and opera-houses of the Empire - if such buildings existed, of course, although it seems likely, given the cosmopolitan mindset of Cyrodiilic culture. A particulary desireable thought is that Saint Jiub - for those of you uninformed of his deeds, the Dunmer who 'drove the Cliff Racers from Vvardenfell' - created the catchy tune himself, given the nature of his actions.
So I come before you know for your take on the situation; do you think Aldos Othran, a stumbling, unimpressive slob of a man, could really think up such beauty, or is the 'Cliff Racer Song' something taken from his homeland? We may never know, but any suggestions put forward should be considered equally.
