Re: Skyrim News!
Why has this turned into a discussion thread? I always check this to see if there's more new info but now it's just people bickering.

Re: Skyrim News!
The discussion that was dragged up died a while ago (in this thread and it's own). But you're entirely right. This discussion should either be deleted or moved to the thread I linked.

Re: Skyrim News!
The XBox version has leaked and is on torrent sites right now. It's no big surprise as that version has been shipped to a lot of reviewers...
You can expect a huge amount of spoilers and other game info to pop up soon.

The Skyrim thread on a Dutch site mentioned thisAKB wrote:Where did you hear that? News story please?
http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/lis ... 1475842/29
Then I checked for myself and I found it.
The comments at the torrent are all about complications overburning a dual-layer DVD, no one mentioned the game itself not working.

Re: Skyrim News!
I agree. Bethesda worked really hard to make a game for us fans(they aren't selfish, probably, so they might not have done it only for the money), and here a leaked version of the game is. Just ignore the leak and wait for the official release.I couldn't agree with you more. It's disrespectful, not only to Bethesda, but also to those of us who are actually in possession of patience, and those who enjoy the anticipation building up. And those who start spilling info: Well, we know what they've done to get it. So let's make them pariahs

Re: Skyrim News!
I think I found the original source of the leak. Going through the comments, I couldn't find anyone claiming to have played it from the torrented copy. While I can't find anyone saying it didn't work, I can't find anyone claiming that it does work (just the usual people expressing joy over the chance to steal someone else's hard work). I'm going to assume that this leak is fake. Not because I doubt that it is possible, but because I can't confirm that this is legitimate (and that I have some faith left in humanity). Of course, if videos of people playing it start popping up or more news stories arrive, I guess I'll have to admit that this is genuine.

Re: Skyrim News!
WHich would be sad. And if videos pop up on YouTube, I'd say we should organize a joint dislike operation. Or a troll copyright suit.

All these are less than "7.7something" Gigabytes.

I scanned over a few torrent sides. Saw a lot of people say they'd buy it despite the leak

At least most of Bethesda's fans have integrity.
I've already paid for mine, But I'd never do something that disrepsectful.

Re: Skyrim News!
So, did anyone actually see any confirmation that this was real? So far, all I've seen are reports of a torrent being available, that's it. This could be just drastically overblown, as a "leaked copy" has been available on some sites since nine months prior today! Also, the torrents aren't even the right file size for Skyrim, which ways in at six gigs.

Re: Skyrim News!
I don't really trust torrents, to be honest. Even if it is from a proclaimed "trustable" user, it can still catch viruses and stuff, IMO.
Like JVE said, I already have mine preordered, so there would be no point in seeing if the leak is real, and to not do it out of respect for Bethesda. They already go through enough people throwing crap at them

Re: Skyrim News!
I see postings confirming it works.
You can use more clever compressing tricks when you just want to transport data and it doesn't need to be read on-the-fly while gaming. (See WinRAR)addictedtomorrowind wrote:All these are less than "7.7something" Gigabytes.
