Would multiplayer tes be viable?
As the title ask would this be nice to have and would it work, dont worry i dont mean/want a mmo tes but a sorta couch co-op or a online 2-8, 2-6 sorta thing. Imo this would be really nice and easier for those who play certain styles and make use of certain spells ie restore other, when i would play as a mage i hated healing didnt feel like healing most spells were useless either effect wont last long enough for me to be fighting i would enjoy the mages more ifi was a buffer. And way characters would work on same system is to load other characters on that system. I would love to see your thoughts or if im the only one who doesnt believe co-op adventuring would kill tes.

They will probably only do it if the comopany had dedicated its resources to a single game.

It could potentially be a lot of fun. Like you said, though, NOT an MMO. But Pete Hines and Todd Howard have both made it blatantly clear they have no intent to add multiplayer.
If they were to do a co-op game, though, they'd have to design it that way from the start, not tack it on at the end.

When they said no intent to add multiplayer, do they mean a small co-op feature also?Crispyman01 wrote:It could potentially be a lot of fun. Like you said, though, NOT an MMO. Re: Would multiplayer tes be viable?
Pete said "it’s a waste of time, a giant distraction and it’ll make for a worse overall game. We want the best game possible. If that’s a singleplayer game that’s 15 to 20 hours, then make that!" (About "forced multiplayer".) The way that's worded implies multiplayer for the sake of multiplayer. Todd said "It’s not that we don’t like it. I can think of ways it would be a lot of fun" and mentioned that they always bring it up when laying out a game, but it's something that always gets voted down. So it's certainly a possibility, but I am assuming they mean no multiplayer like no FFXI style mmorpg or CoD style free for all thing.MasterRokon wrote:When they said no intent to add multiplayer, do they mean a small co-op feature also?Crispyman01 wrote:It could potentially be a lot of fun. One thing I'd like to add is that they have said that they read the forums and look at all of our input, so who knows? If the demand is prevalent enough, we could very well have a 2-4 player online co-op ES adventure sometime later this decade. One can hope, anyway

Re: Would multiplayer tes be viable?
Well, Fable 2 and 3 had a multyplayer option and that was designed as a single player game so I don't see why a TES game would be ruined by somthing like that.
I think that it would be great. I can see myself having loads of fun on some ridiculously hard difficulty in a cave with my brother beating the crap out of some Marauderers.

Re: Would multiplayer tes be viable?
While I definitely dig the idea of bringing in a buddy and his character to cause havoc in the game world, I'd much rather they spend the time it would take to develop multiplayer fixing bugs and adding new features to single player. If I want to play multiplayer, I'll get a FPS.

I'd like it but only if it was a mutiplayer game, what i mean is, I would like a REAL mutiplayer time, where they interact with both of us, and even put them both in the story

I guess that co-op could be done in this way: If you have a follower then your co-op buddy can take control of the follower.
Any kind of competitive multiplayer would mean a DRASTIC redesign of EVERYTHING including removal of cool stuff like invisibility.
