Re: Mythic dawn
Probably not, I never really liked Mehrunes Dagon. And would it make sense if they were in the game anyway? Didn't the Champion of Cyrodiil pretty much destroy the Mythic Dawn cult? If I'm mistaken, many apologies, been a while since i played Oblivion.

Depends on the character. My thief, blacksmith, and assassin characters won't, but my power-hungry mage would probably join any sort of cult if it gave her power.

I'm going to assume they aren't in this game, and if they are, only mentioned in a book on the Oblivion Crisis.

Nah, Dagon's not my style, but maybe other Daedric cults. I hear Sanguine is pretty fun, and my Orc never did get a chance to properly worship Malacath.

Re: Mythic dawn
Sound argument, didn't think of that. Anyway, no, I enjoy killing them far too much. Hircine is my preferred Daedric Prince, guess i'll be hunting them down if they're included.

I would like to believe there a small group still worshiping , the faction mysteriously hidden somewhere in the game. Like in Oblivion you can join them for a short period or quest.

Re: Mythic dawn
Seeing as we killed their leader, stole his Daedric artifact, gutted their secret base, slaughtered their officers and banished their god back to the waters of Oblivion— I'm pretty sure the Mythic Dawn are [&@%!].

Re: Mythic dawn
I don't think that the question is "are they still around" I think that the question is "would you join the Mythic Dawn IF they were to still exist."
My answer, yes.

I'd probably join them if they were to be in the game. Maybe not as a priority, but I'd eventually join up.

Re: Mythic dawn
They are not in the game.
I think the closest you're going to get to the last game in terms of repeat content is during the opening tutorial where someone screams "by oblivion!"
They were supporters of an individual, who is dead.
And their goals outside of Paradise were to end the Septim line: misison accomplished.
In sum, they are irrelevent in terms of lore and originality

Re: Mythic dawn
Initially, no - wouldn't be a priority, since I don't like the religious cults too much.
But eventually, yes, on a necromancer-type character, sure.

Most likely I would, but probably not on my first play through. Ther will be many play throughs though I'm sure.

Re: Mythic dawn
New leadership and maybe a handful of new recruits, but I'd imagine the bulk of what's left would be the Mythic Dawn members that were in the other provinces leading the assaults there...at least the ones that managed to not get lynched afterwards...Mithrandir wrote: He did, but this Mythic Dawn would be a new version, seeking to avenge their fallen Lord
On tops: I wouldn't join them, I'd purge them from Nirn
Re: Mythic dawn
Hmm...possibly. My cynical mage is Listener as well as Arch-Mage and all the rest and thus is probably going to the world's analogy of hell when he dies. He is an elf and so with luck might make it to a 1000 years old. But that's not eternity. Because there is no Rapture like event with the realms being destroyed and remade anew (correct me if I'm wrong lore eschatologists!) presumably the Daedric realms will last forever (the Daedric Princes are like gods in their own right, maybe even stronger than one of the Nine 'gods' if I know my lore), which might imply that Cameron's Paradise would last forever.
Therefore the choices are : As the Hero, betray Martin and bring about the Paradise on Mundus where my character will rule as an immortal Ascended alongside Mankar and Dagon (pretty sweet deal)
Or if they still manage to beat Dagon back on Mundus (unlikely!), presumably through the merit of his great power (my char's a pretty decent mage
),my character will spend eternity as one of the Chosen and torture others forever. Hey, better than being the guy IN the lava right?
So through this rather cold-blooded reasoning, my character would probably say...yes.

If they're in here, I shall do as I have always done.
Kill the worshipers, loot the shrines, move on.
The exception is Sheogorath, as I don't want to [&@%!] us/myself off.

If they're there, my guy will fight them.
I didn't spend all of Oblivion trying to stop them, only to get chummy with them in Skyrim.

Re: Mythic dawn
The Mythic Dawn were likely wiped out by the death of their leader, failed attack on Tamriel, infiltration of their base and death of many of their members. They were also unique to Cyrodiil. But if they did happen to end up in Skyrim 200 years later, then no, I wouldn't join an outlawed, extremist Daedric cult who worship an "evil" god. I don't see the benefit.

The Oblivion Crisis touched all the Provinces, I'd venture a guess that the Mythic Dawn had at least some presence in the operations outside of Cyrodiillegoless wrote:The Mythic Dawn were likely wiped out by the death of their leader, failed attack on Tamriel, infiltration of their base and death of many of their members.
