Hey.
So, I have a problem with the mods I've installed...
I think it might have something to do with something I've done:
I deleted some file, and Oblivion wasn't working, so I installed it again, but the mods were still installed. Which didn't happen when I first desinstalled the game and re-installed it.
I'm guessing it is because the first time I actually deleted all the files.
Well, anyways, the mods aren't working. They are checked on the data files, but the only ones that are in fact working are the ones I installed after re-installing oblivion.
Any chance I don't have to desinstall all the mods I have and re-install them?

Re: Mods problems
It sounds like you have to.
Are you able to post your active mods list, by chance?

Re: Mods problems
Best way to make sure it all runs safely is:
1: Backup saves (forgot if they're in the data file or not)
2: Uninstall Oblivion
3: Delete the oblivion folder so it's an 100% clean install.
4: Reinstall Oblivion+DLC
5: Install patches and so on
6: Install mods then run BOSS for the right load order

Your Saves are in: C:\Documents and Settings\(profile name)\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\saves
Be sure to delete the C:\Documents and Settings\usjle\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion folder, as it has the .ini, which is usually what messes up a re-install, as the .ini saves game settings. The un-install process usually never deletes this folder.
Also, be sure to delete the C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion folder, as this has your Data Files, which includes the meshes, textures, sound, ect... which are usually where the mod conflicts are. The un-install process does not always delete everything.

Re: Mods problems
Without more information I have to guess here so here I go.
If you stick to Beths official mod system then that would have worked fine, so I guess you use tools and stuff to by pass beths official system and avoid the safety measures put in place to prevent problems like this.
The moment you start using various tools and patches to bash patch merge or clean mods, you take your fate in your own hands and this stuff starts happening. Next thing you know your living in CTD city.
I recommend uninstalling oblivion, delete the entire oblivion folder, then delete the folder Jeff spoke off and start again from scratch with fresh installs of everything. Remember Beths system works, trust it and it will look after you. By pass it and your screwed when things go wrong.
Just follow the golden rule, if 2 mods conflict, remove 1 and keep the other.

Re: Mods problems
So litle information from you only make me think you know litle about your problem.
1- Have you read all readme files of your mods.
2- Have you activated esm & esp files in your mod list which is needed if you instal mods manualy.
3- And you may need to delite oblivon.ini file which is located in (I guessing) C:\Users\User name\Documents\My Games\oblivion
4.If mods have repleced original oblivion and oficial files then they will be delited wen you uninstal game becouse they have same
name as original files so mods data thet stay will be just redundant and will act like head whit no bodu parts.
