What are your oppinions on the Dark Brotherhood?
This is a poll to see what you think of the Dark Brotherhood. As some of you may know this popular guild has received praise in my other polls so I want to know what makes the DB so awesome!
(I have a rough idea)
What sort of DB quests are you hoping for in Skyrim?

It's all about the Morag Tong. I didn't really like the whole kinda religious aspect of the Dark Brotherhood.

I love murdering people for absolutely no reason, the DB pays me for it. Case closed.

I loved the Dark Brotherhood. I just hope that in Skyrim the members' personalities are as well done and interesting as the ones in Oblivion.

The Dark Brotherhood is,hands down,my all time favorite guild in TES.
I'm hoping for more morally dubious quests, children realated quests, pet killing quests, funny quests etc.I want quest that remind the player that the DB "business" isn't for everyone.

I will forever love the DB, they always have the best line. :3 They also have imo the most versatility, so you don't get bored during the line.

Re: What are your oppinions on the Dark Brotherhood?
Truly epic.
I always loved the Hitman-series, and would try to complete them on the hardest difficulty as "assassin". - It would be so awesome, if you could poison people, and kind of "get away" with it, without ever being there at the kill-scene.
Loved the quests, the whole darkness and conspiracy. And I'm going to love reading about how the DB was rebuilt in Cyrodiil after the events of Oblivion (if you played the questline).

They're okay, I guess, I've always prefered other guilds, maybe It's just that I find the incredible amounts of DB fanboism/fangirlism obnoxious.

Re: What are your oppinions on the Dark Brotherhood?
Personally, I rarely play as a stealthy character.
I'd probably end up like that Orc in the Oblivion DB, "run in and murder everything." Was alright, managed to get by with like...30 sneak T_T
Played one stealthy Dunmer, was much better, but still wasn't a big fan of the stealth.
My characters are usually straight up warriors.
What I DO hope is that for those not in the guild, sometimes you are attacked by assassins like you were in Fallout 3. And heck, maybe if you are in the guild some kind of betrayal for the guilds personal gain could be awesome.

Re: What are your oppinions on the Dark Brotherhood?
Yes, the quests and storyline are epic, but I quite like the NPCs, even the ones you hardly interact with, such as the Black Hand members. And Lucien Lachance is awesome.
What I'd really love in Skyrim, is for the Dark Brotherhood to be active even without you joining them. So, every once in a while, one NPC would go missing, and maybe other NPCs could react with rumours. Then you go investigate and find they've been murdered. Stuff like that, for me, would really make the Dark Brotherhood perfect. Oh, and, to have lots more Assassins living double lives. I mean like, all the Black Hand can be found living as civilians, having a daily routine behind their more sinister life? I think of it similar to Alval Uvani, but maybe with more depth. I think it would really make the Brotherhood feel more 'alive'.

I wanna kill people for the money and nothing else. No sacred night mothers or twisted moral that makes you believe the people you kill had it coming.

But that's the fun part. They're kind of like the Dexter Morgan of The Elder Scrolls series. The Number None wrote:This.Zero_The_Dark wrote:It's all about the Morag Tong. I didn't really like the whole kinda religious aspect of the Dark Brotherhood.

I enjoyed it as well, but I think a more traditional assassins guild is missing. I want to kill good guys for money.

I love db. They are one of my favorite guilds, though i do tend to play warrior characters as opposed to stealth, but i still love 'em.

Re: What are your oppinions on the Dark Brotherhood?
Agreed. It would be cool if they could merge that idea into the Thieves guild. Have, the traditional no killing guild and then, say, a splinter-group that has broken off from the guild where all bets are off and killing is fine just as long as you get the prize. The Number None wrote:I enjoyed it as well, but I think a more traditional assassins guild is missing. I love the DB. Not only because of the quests, but because of the Members. They had more personality than all the other NPC's of the other Guilds

Re: What are your oppinions on the Dark Brotherhood?
In all the other guilds (including Morag Tong) the members and leadership were sane (or at least pretending to be). However, in the DB it was completely accepted to be a full blown psycho. This allowed a whole lot of added flavour to the dialogue and plot. The Number None wrote: I wanna kill people for the money and nothing else. Whether you liked this or not depends on how much you appreciate dark humour and sick jokes I guess....

Re: What are your oppinions on the Dark Brotherhood?
I liked the idea I was killing only those who deserved it, like Rufio.
I didn't like just killing for the fun of it.
But I liked their attire , rewards and missions.

Not voting because anyone that uses the word "epic" unironically should have their tongue cut out.
But I belive they're the most interesting faction in all of the Elder Scrolls games and I absolutely love playing its quests.

Re: What are your oppinions on the Dark Brotherhood?
But those quests are the best thing about the Dark Brotherhood. There's no moral excuse that you're doing bad things to people... but only bad people who really deserve it. Those quests are the moment of clarity that brings home to the player that their character has become truly completely irredeemably evil.Elegost wrote:Don't like them to be honest, I have a thing agienst Killing inocent, if they only killed rapers, child abusers etc I would be signing up today! ...
And it's evil with a purpose not the pointless murdering-random-NPCs-and-kicking-puppies kind of evil.

If you want more funny quests doesn't sound like that's going to happen I heard the DB where going to be even more serious and proffesional and have even less moralsMefris Elmek wrote:The Dark Brotherhood is,hands down,my all time favorite guild in TES.
