Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
^^I am looking for the mod that makes 6th house a reality.
The only noticeably bad guild is the Fighter's, too much travel across the island, kill a man, and return. No variety. The best in my non-expert opinion are the Mage's Guild for variety, and House Telvanni for awesome rewards.
It is shameful to admit but I have yet to join House Redoran in my many years of playing, just seems boring.

There are actually two mods that expand the 6th House and make it joinable, it might be worth looking into both. 6th House and Great House Dagoth. Hope that helpsFidelCashFlow wrote:^^I am looking for the mod that makes 6th house a reality.

House Hlaalu is awesome, House UESP is also awesome. It would be fun to play House Indoril, or House Dagoth.

Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
House Hlaalu by far.
Although I've never joined Telvanni (simply cos their trees look stupid)
Joined Redoran once, but it seemed boring, and I hate Ald Ruh'n.
The rest of the guilds have their good bits and their bad bits.
Except for the Temple. They're all bad, mainly cos I've never finished their stupid Pilgrimage.

No problem, it was a pleasure. Be sure to share some of your experiences and maybe even a quick, or not-so-quick, review on the House Dagoth page, Happy Morrowinding!FidelCashFlow wrote:Thank you sir, am playing the first one and it definitely rekindled my love of Morrowind. Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
I joined Telvaani myself. Though I've only beaten Morrowind once.
Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
I decided not to join any house this time, as my sympathies are more with the nomadic tribes
also, how can you not finish that first pilgrimage? 3 are in vivec, 2 in or near gnisis, one on the road from balmora to suran, with a few side quests along the way (mating kagouti, slave assasin, escort pilgrim), one just outside ghostgate where you want to steal stuff anyway

Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
since the urshilaku are to religious, the ahemmusa too pacifistic/inactive (I got a great 10 magica spell to cure blight/dissease on other, none of you ever thought of walking up to gnisis to learn that spell?), the Erabeninsum too stupid, the Zainab are the only ones who actually stand a chance in any world
but my heart is with all of them, ofcourse

Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
As I see it, the Ahemmusa are crippled by the Blight, and without their leader. I feel empathy towards them, bordering on pity for their plight, and I wouldn't go so far as too call them pacifistic, considering they are a nomadic people not so attuned to the ways of the settled people as the Zainab. The Erabenimsun can be little more than savages in some circumstances, and as a whole they are not incredibly likeable. I think if I were to choose, I'd say that I like the Urshilaku Tribe the best. Perhaps it's because they seem the most accepting, while still traditional, guardians of the Nerevarine Prophecies, they are most willing to accept an outlander as Nerevar Incarnate.

House Redoran.
Not sure why, really, but I think it is because the architecture reminds me of Star Wars

The Morag Tong, and House Redoran are my favorites, even though they are kinda complete opposites. Ienjoy the noble-ish-ness of house Redoran But the Dark mysteriousness of the Morag Tong appeals to me as well.

I'm gonna have to go with the Tribunal Temple. Either them, Redoran, or the Theives guild.
Do you mind? I'm doing the fishstick. It's a very delicate state of mind.

I generally like all Great Houses but Morag Tong and the Bal Molagmer subfaction of the Thieves Guild are my favorites.

Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
Gah, I can't read the entire topic because I haven't played most of those factions yet and you'll spoil me.
Out of those I've played so far my favourite one is the Thieves Guild. I like sneaking around and the early quests, when it was really difficult to avoid getting caught, were a lot of fun for me. Morag Tong was fun too, especially being able to just knife people in broad daylight, but I guess I prefer robbing people blind over (legally) hacking them to pieces. The thievery has the added bonus of being able to mock your victims later, when they stare dumbly at the empty shelves.

Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
I voted House Hlaalu.
Because everytime I create a new character on Morrowind I always say 'I should join a different house this day', yet I always find myself drifting back to the Hlaalu....and Crassius.

Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
It never use to be like that... just a lot of dirty Hlaalu followers on the forum these days. It surprises me they are so liked really, the quest-line was a bit... lacking, in my opinion. Lore wise they remind me of a bunch of corrupt kiss-asses, they have absolutely no back-bone or morals, and will do anything to please their Imperial masters so long as they get treats in return. Yes I am thinking of the Caldera contract... the Hlaalu are a disgrace if you ask me, they infect the province with Imperial politics and greed, and slowly rape the Dunmeri of their ancient traditions.dovajerk wrote:what redoran is the least voted house, they are the true warriors of morrowind give some respect
They would be barely able to function without the Empires backing...

Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
Well, the power of the Hlaalu is the ability to quickly adapt and do business. So even if the Empire was gone, they'd still be able to find a way to adapt and such.

Re: Your Favorite Faction / Great House
True, but a fair amount of Dunmer don't trust Hlaalu due to it's Imperial standing. Not all of course, but a lot.
Whatever would Hlaalu do if it had to fight for Caldera and other mines? without the empire, they have no legal claim to some of them, meaning the Redoran can attack due to it being their land(I would say the Telvanni to, but they don't really care about laws). With less goods comes less profit, seeming Hlaalu rely on trade so much... that would hit them hard.
They could of course 'try' to fight the Redoran, but that is not where the strength of their house is, the Redoran are unparalleled in combat... and also happen to have the backing of the Temple.
Please note I'm not saying 'Hlaalu are crap blah blah..', I'm merely commenting on them relying on the Empire. It's these things that make it all so interesting, could you imagine if all the houses where the same? or if the politics where watered down? it would be rubbish.
The Hlaalu can adapt, but they are only as good as what they can manipulate. It would always be a strong house, just not as powerful as it is with Imperial support.
