Gore in Skyrim? Any Thoughts...
After seeing some new footage it is apparent that there will be some sort of gore within the game. I personally think gore is a great aspect of a game if not overdone/done maturely. Bethesda DOES know how to pull off gore pretty damn well (cough cough fallout), so I am personally relieved that it has been added to the game. Any thoughts?

Gore in Fallout 3 worked because of the tone of the game, I want realistic gore in Skyrim, but I want a different sort of gore than Fallout 3.

I'm all for some gore, but keep it realistic, I mean in Fallout 3 you could blow off peoples arms with handguns if you aimed right, I don't want that kind of over the top gore, but I'm all for blood on the sword and ground. The lack of blood in Oblivion always irked me a little bit.

I know what you mean, but by god was it fun. I feel a realistic approach that would prevent the "over the top" would be to have dismemberment only on the killing blow. But blades are quite different than guns, I feel there should always be blood onscreen during a battle. Whenever blood gets stained on my sword or smeared across the floor in oblivion, I'm always like "I wish this happened more often, its really awesome".I'm all for some gore, but keep it realistic, I mean in Fallout 3 you could blow off peoples arms with handguns if you aimed right, I don't want that kind of over the top gore,

Well there's already beheadings at executions. I think you can do that in combat too, though It may require a perk.

I remember reading that there's a perk for decapitation. To paraphrase Godd Howard, 'it's really quite surprising when you get it and heads start flying off.' And as Ryuhza said, there's a display of a beheading at an execution in the newest G4TV footage.

Well, not really. That's debating whether or not you'll be able to turn it off. This one's asking how deep it goes. And frankly, I think it should be reasonably gory, if not just to fit with the messier combat system. It would certainly be more immersive than the food colouring sprays they had in Oblivion.

Re: Gore in Skyrim? Any Thoughts...
I personally feel that gore fits Skyrim much more than any other recent TES game. I am actually sort of glad Bethesda didn't ruin the very "Renaissance" feel that oblivion had by adding messing kills (would have been fun gameplay wise though). Skyrim is much more grittier than oblivion in my eyes due to the new art style, so a greater amount of gore just fits the game better.
No one can deny decapitating a bandit's head with a heaving steel battleaxe will be amazing especially with the heavier combat system.

Couldn't agree more. This time, it fits Skyrim since Skyrim is supposed to be a bit barbaric and the fact it is in theHackattack wrote:I personally feel that gore fits Skyrim much more than any other recent TES game.
