... is in Skyrim!!
A journalist from RipTen wrote in his preview that he found him on the way to Winterhold with nothing but his usual robe on in the freezing blizzard
It is also confirmed that he still travels around like in Oblivion, not like Morrowind (the guy waited to see if he had any more rumors to share but he was looooooong gone.
And thanks to River for posting the article, otherwise i would never have seen it!
Me: "So, how did you get this rich?"
Random Jarl: "I'm the Jarl and so were my father, grandfather, and his father. How about you?"
Me: "I've just spent some days chopping wood."
Thats so awesome. M'aiq was the best. He should end up being someone really important in the elder scrolls and he should tell stories of your character in oblivion. Kind of similar to the log book on dive rock about the Chieftain of Thirsk.
M'aiq could be a daedric prince in in disguise

He said he'd seen dragons and maybe one day the player will see a dragon too.
Either that's the most amazing coincedence ever or Bethesda is truly crafty.
ARGGHHH!!!!!!
Sorry about that. But this isn't the first appearance of dragons. First, they were in Daggerfall (not fully grown, but still). Then, there was Nafaalilargus from Redguard. Hell, even Oblivion had a dragon in it. Does no one remember the ending sequence of Oblivion? The Avatar of Akatosh counts. The only way to prove this is to have Bethesda confirm it.

It probably is just a coincedence.

Maybe he will actually have real info, but guides you the wrong way. Like(Morrowind example): "Seyda Neen is in the Sheogorad region" while Seyda Neen still exists, but is not in the Sheogorad Region.
As documented on the wiki page for M'aiq the Liar (which I may or may not had made), he seems to offer the same kind of advice that he did in Oblivion.

awww man now i have to spend hours and hours of my life trying to make radiant story make m'aiq give me a quest unless he does already.... a quest for m'aiq the liar would be epic, even if it is to find him 500 calipers for a prize like festus in fnv
Love that he's back, i wonder if he'll comment on the fact that you can't chose your class, or why necromancy is (now more?) accepted in skyrim after the arcane university banned it all together.
He's a funny little Easter Egg that a lot of people like.

Spoiler:
It's because the Mages Guild no longer exists. I assume one of the splinter factions, the Synod or the College of Whispers, supports Necromancy.
It's all because AKB was such a poor Arch-Mage.
Must be.
Spoiler:
Yeah, that's true. Sorry guys. It was also my idea to use Umbra to stop the moon... I was also the head of the body guard for all of the Emperor's sons... I was ordered to guard the Heart of Lorkhan alongside Dagoth Ur, and I cut work early that day... I was the Emperor's original mail courier... I used to be a guard at a museum, and I entirely lost track of an exhibit. I never did find out what happened to the Staff of Chaos...
WHY THE HELL DO YOU GUYS KEEP GIVING ME THESE JOBS!!!
