Post by xopsi »

According to IGN, they just got their copies of Skyrim. so that means a review within a week or so. it comes out in what, 14 days? so we'll probably have a review by next friday. but we all know it's goty.

ps: if this posts twice, forgive me, i'm posting from a phone.

I'm pretty sure the major game reviewers, like IGN, do NOT post the reviews of the game until the release date.

I can't link to it, but theres an unboxing video on the main PS3 page, and I'd imagine the 360 and PC ones, where a bearded guy flips through the manual and shows the map. He says the review will come out on the 10th

Oh thanks.

I can't watch the video, but i know it exists.

And yes btw, they do release early reviews. They try to get it out before the game comes out to help give a better idea of if it should be bought.

The uncharted review came out like two days ago, and the battlefield 3 review came out early as well.

Eurogamer have mentioned a Review Embargo that only ends on the 10th, if I remember correctly, so don't expect too much from any reliable source until then.

Okay. So i'll be expecting it on the 10th. I'll probably only look at score, i'm tired of spoiling this game for myself.

PS: GOTY.

Here is one for the 360:

The video has zero info though. The guy is basically bragging about how much fun he will be having the coming days while you, the Average Joe, will have to wait.
I wish him many corrupted savegames and broken quests......

I'm ignoring any and all reviews for Skyrim. I could not care less about most of these reviewers nit picky commentary, especially if it's coming from a site like IGN.

lol. and to dubq, i'm kind of offended. i'm a fan of ign. so i take offense to that comment. sure i sometimes don't agree with them, (especially on the whole dark souls is better thabn skyrim article) but that was a pretty arrogant statement. you're free to have your opinion on which sites are your favorite, but please take that kind of hate somewhere else.

and also, spikespeigel, i agree. i won't actually "read" the review. i'll just look at the score and be done with it.

xopsi I'm sure dubq is simply referring to IGN's favoritism.
No offense but it's pretty apparent if one reads their writer's articles.
I frequent IGN myself for 2 reasons to see if for once they give a good unbiased review. Two for game news and tips.
Sure everyone has favorites I won't lie but for the sake of a good article I would put my favoritism aside for the sake of being professional and putting out a good article that has my name on it.

Yeah, but when every other review site agrees, then you're just [&@%!] to [&@%!].

Yeah, i trust ign, and yeah, they are somewhat biased, but i go to seven or eight other sites to confirm what they say, and when every other site says the same thing about a game, does that make the industry biased, or does that make them right?

The industry generally agrees, you just seem to hold ign to a different standard.

EDIT: nevermind. automatic censorer. ^

Why would you be offended? Are you one of their hack-writers? ;)

..and I don't hate them. I just think they're terrible at what they do. I don't waste my time with hate. It's not very productive. ;)

This. Pretty much this and that their articles read like fodder from a zine published by a 12 year old. ;)
