It takes two to reanimate?
In the more recent footage of the player reanimating the chicken he charges the spell first using both his hands. So what I'm wondering is
-Do you have to charge a reanimation spell for it to reanimate?
-What will the spell do uncharged ? (one hand) will it do anything?
-Does charging effect the duration of the reanimation(e.g charged = 30 seconds, uncharged = 10seconds)?
I'm sure there are other things that I could ask, but It's late so...what do you guys think on the matter?

Re: It takes two to reanimate?
Well, none of us can confirm any of your questions, but we can speculate.
1. My guess is yes. Reanimating the dead cannot be simple, and seems like a really difficult task. So if you could just do it mid-combat, in a 1-sec cast, it would be too "unrealistic", if you can say that for a TES game. Reanimating requires time, and therefore it needs to be charged (I might be wrong).
2. Uncharged, it would have a severely decreased effect - decreased duration and damage perhaps.
3. Perhaps - maybe other factors come into play such as HP, dmg, speed and so on.

According to this review there is no problem reanimating mid-combat.\
I suspect the person who recorded that used the 2-hand-overcharge just to make the shot look cooler.

Either that, or they just stay 'alive' for longer if you use two hands.

Re: It takes two to reanimate?
i would speculate that using two-handed overcharge cast would increase the durration and effects, like with all other spells, or maybe it depends on what your trying to reanimate, because they talk about spell interactions and how different spell combinations do different things, im assuming everything can be raised with only a 1handed cast, im wondering if you can combine restoration/illusion/bound items/destruction magic to your summoned minions to charge them with different effects, that would be awesome, aww man now im definately gunna be using conjuration and get that animate spell

Oh yeah probably. I meant he didn't need to use 2 hands to make that SHORT CLIP. The human resurrections in the review last longer then the chicken shot.SilentPsycho wrote:Either that, or they just stay 'alive' for longer if you use two hands.

Re: It takes two to reanimate?
So we are talking about ANOTHER new feature in this game. Charged spells. has this been discussed anywhere else?
I now wonder if all the spells have a charged feature. (in addition to the two-handed which alone makes spells stronger)
On topic: What's been said already makes the most sense. Bethy seems to be working alot of the gray, in-between areas of things!

Wouldn't it be cool if for smaller animals reviving them was permanent. Also, when you are at a high enough level, you could do the same to bigger things.

Imagine raising an army of resurrected NPCs, sacking town after town... I guess we can only hope. xD

Re: It takes two to reanimate?
It's hundreds of years past Oblivion times, so maybe people aren't so good at reanimating anymore. It would be cool if you had to perform like a mini ritual to bring something back to life, like a super super charged spell. Only necromancy masters should be able to cast the spell in seconds.

One reviewer found a "Staff of Zombies", which could reanimate things. (lesser animals, I suppose)
