Will Skyrim be like Oblivion.......
What I mean is, in the demos Todd shown us of Oblivion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjbx6-KQ ... re=related it was a damn near different game to what the finished product was! It had much better AI. I'm just a bit worried if this might happen again.....

Are you saying Todd showed you a game you thought was going to be "perfect" and then it wasn't.... so you are afraid of that happening again?
That expectation is self-imposed.
I'm happy with Bethy games being my "favorite" when compared to other games. Dont need to be perfect.

Beth creates the closest things to perfection the gaming world has ever seen.

The demos for Oblivion where actually pretty close to what the final product is like... I really don't see much difference between the two. Besides, Bethesda are rolling in money and staff now so what they are aiming for is more likely to be reached, and reached at high quality level.
You are just getting a bit jittery. A bit like when it dawns on people that they are getting married or something.

But Elegost does have a point, the game that was shown at E3 in 2005 is very different in some aspects, to what consumers got to play (it is basically the same overall, but there are a number of differences). Completely different Map, the inclusion of Sutch, different voices (the Dunmer voice was much more similar to Morrowind, the Imperial voice was a little more British, Baurus and Glenroy had completely different voices), a very different AI, different menu screen even. In actuality, a lot of the things that were dropped, like the voices shown at E3, the multiple Arenas, and the Elder Council, all seem to have been things that would have made the game better, so it's a pity that they were lost.
However, in saying that, although Skyrim will be different from what we've seen, I don't think it will be so different, and I'm sure it wont be a disappointment.

I think Todd is aware that that is the perception, and I think he was really careful to only show what he knows they can deliver.
It wasnt more than 4 or 5 months ago that they were still saying "we want to do horses, but we wont do them unless they work."
They also have only shown 360 footage, which I think is regarded as the least capable in terms of graphics, so that everyone gets at minimum what they have seen, and potential they get a lot better graphics if they invest in a computer that can deliever.
I'm not worried about them not delivering at all

Re: Will Skyrim be like Oblivion.......
The Game doesn't look like Oblivion except for the fighting... It looks TONS like Morrowind. I'm actually scared of what the final product is gonna look like. Im scared out of my pants. After watching that G4 review, Im scared for combat, npc interface and quests.
1) combat looks laggy
2) talking Npc's lips don't go with the words very well. One NPC sounded American :0 NOT skyrim
3) the quests from what I saw look similar to Fable 2 quests. I haven't seen enough footage to know if thats for sure...
please clarify if anyone of you noticed this as well.... Its creeping me out. I want this game to be over the top

Re: Will Skyrim be like Oblivion.......
The Demo looks better because of that script and voice acting.
But really, we won't know until we actually get into the game. For now us to judge would be foolish and too assuming.
As we don't know the story, the characters, voice acting, actual problems and so forth. without this? We're just predicting how bad and or good it'll be.

Re: Will Skyrim be like Oblivion.......
I kinda feel sorry for some of you guys who are all filled up on pre-release info, hype, and personal expectation.
The good size crowd here who liked Morrowind better than Oblivion have a bit of reason to worry.
Personally, I nevr felt let down by Oblivion, FO3, or FONV.
I enjoyed those games by such a wide margin over their contemporaries that I feel it would be foolish for me to gripe about content Beth has released so far.
We've seen less than 10hrs of content in a game that could extend beyond 200hrs.
Surely you will find SOMETHING in the other 190hrs to make up for the things that rub you the wrong way.
