If 3+ dragons show up in one go, I'll probably have to turn off my computer to let the intense rage die down.

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
the inability to delete spells you really dont want anymore.
dremora armor that you can never have but are always jealous of cause it looks like daedric.
Stop criminal scum!!!!
the inability to change your haircut after you start the game.
guns, or anything close to semi-auto.
packs of dragons. if i emerge from a cave to see 4 dragons swooping about i will rage quit pretty fast.
Its all over law breaker... lol
hardcore mode.
pathetic little bandits wearing awsome armor.
a lack of really good, worth how much you payed for it, houses/shacks/mansions. (chorrol : dont give us a servant quarters if i cant
have an argonian maid walkin about
if you know what i mean ) lol
for my wife or significant other i marry in skyrim to just sit and walk around my house and be useless afterwards.
thats about all i can think of

What would not ruin persay but annoy me would be...
*Bandits ALWAYS being hostile.
*Bandits having really, really, good armor.
*All gaurds in the area attcking you for stealing something less that 10 pieces of gold.
*Race or gender having no big effects on story.

Hahaha .. I'm on a second play through in Oblivion. (Only because the thought of Skyrim egged me on, and also my copy of Oblivion has had time to recover)SilencedProwler wrote:i want the main quest to feel less urgent. like in oblivion you felt like you needed to deliver that friggin amulet. like if the quest developed slowly and then eventually you kinda figure out whats really going on.
I am currently level 39 and still have not delivered to amulet. So no real rush.... I'd assume.

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
For me its a console style inventory list on the PC as seen in the videos would kill Skyrim dead for me. I am hoping PC users will get a proper inventory screen and not that scrolly thing the Xbox gets.
And the same old bugged out Navmesh from Fallout 3 and Fallout NV would do a good job of killing my interest in it too since my primary reason for getting skyrim is to mod it, playing it is a bonus.

I don't want the ability to smith Dwarven artefacts. It's incredibly stupid and short-sighted of whatever developer was put in charge of that. It has already been well established that Dwarven armour and weapons are made from rare metals and are of superior Dwemer crafting, which makes them irreplaceable (although it's apparently possible to create worthless replicas of Dwarven weapons). This is why they were protected under Imperial law, and why smuggling them is so profitable. It completely defies all previous lore if any stinking Nord with a hammer can forge these unique items.

A lack of good storyline, lore and this feeling that the game world has no soul of its own. I exactly felt like that while playing Oblivion, it was nothing compared to the it of Morrowind. Seriously, I think that they just released Oblivion on Morrowind's success.

That's actually a really good, but often overlooked point. I hope Beth won't let their lore be sabotaged by that.legoless wrote:I don't want the ability to smith Dwarven artefacts. Not being able to hide again if you find a reclusive spot after escaping from an enemy. it's a joke that you can be spotted by an enemy in a cave in Oblivion and thereafter they'll automatically know exactly where you are no matter how many twists, turns, alleys and side passages you take.

I'm mean it's not top of my list, but it's in there.
The big stand outs are the leveled enemies/gear and the psychic guards.....

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
The money system was practically useless, you start out, raid 2 dungeons and you already have 10,000 gold at your disposal, in F: NV at least everything wasn't so dirt cheap you had to actually manage your money so you could stock up at important moments or buy that awesome weapon you dreamed of...
If the enemies were idiots, I would get bored, if they were better than me on all levels, I would get so cranky that I would leave the game for about a month only to start over because I couldn't remember what I doing at that point in time.
The stealth system was almost nonexistent, you shot somebody, their buddy would rush over only to alert everyone else where the shot came from, and using magic for stealth was pretty useless because the same thing would happen with the difference being that EVERYONE would know. I know they've already got the stealth right, but what I'm worried about is: can you use magic confidently for stealth? I want to throw a fireball in between enemies without them even knowing, and I've already heard of a perk in Illusion or Stealth that prevents noise while using spells, crossing my fingers on Stealth Magic...
Several people mentioned before the inability to delete spells from your list, I so definitely want to be able to get rid of them, but still be able to relearn them from a teacher or scroll without even trying, because if you accidentally removed a prized spell from your list, then you shouldn't have to wait 30 days and nights to get it back because you had to save up.

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
That's so true, it takes literally 10 minutes in Oblivion to have thousands of septims. It is similar in Morrowind but I feel like in Oblivion it was easier, I can just become a millionaire (according to the in game world reality) in 10 - 15 minutes...Theificka wrote:The money system was practically useless, you start out, raid 2 dungeons and you already have 10,000 gold at your disposal

All of this is my biggest concern. A smaller concern is bows having proper scaling, because after like 15, they are so useless it's not even funny. >>;lostlast wrote:/\ This.Marco wrote:Not being able to hide again if you find a reclusive spot after escaping from an enemy. it's a joke that you can be spotted by an enemy in a cave in Oblivion and thereafter they'll automatically know exactly where you are no matter how many twists, turns, alleys and side passages you take.

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
Basically all the shortcomings of Oblivion were manageable or avoidable except ONE:
Friendly quest/vendor/trainer NPC's dying to high level mobs at random.
"So you want the master marksman trainer? Well tough luck, she got owned by some bandit in full glass when you were in the area last time."
This is just BAD BAD game design, and I NEVER want to see this kind of stuff ever happen again.
edit: And what made this such a clusterf*** is that you could resurrect the NPC's with the console, but you could not reset the (failed) quest. When you noticed the problem it was already to late because you saved like 10 times AFTER the NPC's death.
I believe this problem is addressed in Skyrim with the NPC status "protected", making the NPC only killable by the player. I sure hope this works right.....

Ugh that made me mad. I mean, she has got her own camp right there and yet she walks all the way up the hill to another camp that always has a bandit??? Makes senseSuperNull wrote:Basically all the shortcomings of Oblivion were manageable or avoidable except ONE:

annoying enemies, you know, like morrowind was with Cliff Racer's? (hopefully, none of that annoying [&@%!] or anything as annoying as those)

Nothing will ever be as annoying as the cliffracers. Unless they put Cliffracers 2.0 in Skyrim. I almost hope they do that now, although it would make no sense...
... but St. Jiub "drove all the cliffracers from Vvardenfell", he didn't necessarily kill them. Maybe they ended up in Skyrim? I think not. Would be fun. Nah, it wouldn't even be fun. Would it? Nah.

If the cliff racers end up in Skyrim, I will not rest until I create a mod that makes it so dragons eat them! Cliff racers are one of the reasons why I actually rank Morrowind lower than Oblivion on my list of favourite games. The Number None wrote: ... but St. Jiub "drove all the cliffracers from Vvardenfell", he didn't necessarily kill them. Please give mod with cliffracers implemented and they get eaten by dragons all the time! I would so enjoy to watch it^^

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
I wish they'd go back to the morrowind fast travel system (which I believe they're touching on with the carriage system.) I want SILT STRIDERS!!! I also wish they'd remove that compass. Or at least change it's positioning. I'm also pretty against including dragons, but i suppose the story allows for it.

Hey that might be the main story plot. Bring the cliffracers INTO Skyrim so the dragons have enough food without bothering the humanoid population.Trelares wrote:Please give mod with cliffracers implemented and they get eaten by dragons all the time! I would so enjoy to watch it^^

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
Morrowind creatures(except for Cliff Racers, although I still think Cliff Racers wouldn't survive in Skyrim). And Oblivion creatures. These creatures are kinda game-specific, like Nix-Hounds or something. Rats and Mudcrabs and creatures like that can be allowed, though.
