Re: Funny/interesting pictures, events and stories
One time I went up to Cloud Ruler Temple to give Martin an artifact, I opened the gates and saw jauffre fighting with a Dae'droth....while all the other Blades just stood around saying "Hello Sir" and "Greetings Sir" when jauffre went near them....then the daedroth hit another Blade and all hell broke loose.
Good times, good times.....

Re: Funny/interesting pictures, events and stories
I suppose this counts as interesting, albeit also a bit annoying. I walked into Olav's Tap and Tack, and there were about six people in there aside from Olav. Anyway, Suurootan (the owner of Novaroma) decided to pick up some food from one of the tables. Gromm apparently didn't like that very much. He started beating on Suurootan, who immediately bolted from the tavern. Outside, a bunch of guards slaughtered Gromm (who vanished rather than leaving a body behind to loot,
), and they then proceeded to pursue and slaughter Suurootan. It was amusing at the time, but now I realize that I can never purchase my monkeypants.

Re: Funny/interesting pictures, events and stories
This literally JUST happened to me xD
I walked up to the Palace to just have a look around (and the Big Heist but shush about that and wotnot) and i saw 4 Palace Guards attacking Chancelor Ocato...stood around for about 10 minutes just watching and then more palace guards came, but they went and fought the Guards attacking Ocato, so there was a big fight with lots of blood, with me sat in one of the chairs lol'ing at the mess they left behind xD

Re: Funny/interesting pictures, events and stories
Something pretty awkward happened to me yesterday. It was too funny.
You know the Black Horse Courier woman? The one on the Black Horse who rides just about everywhere? Well, I was walking towards Vindasel (Umbra, hell yeah) when I heard a wolf growl. I looked around and saw a wolf just about to bite me. I killed but noticed a woman on the ground. She was the Black Horse Courier. Man, that was awkward as. But hey, I got all the copies of the newspaper.

I saw a gaurd riding in the wilderness at night and decided to follow him a bit. When he saw a bear he started fighting it. When the bear would get low on health I would start healing the bear. This did not disturb the guard at all. After a few heals the bear still had some health left while the guard died. Two hits from my mace killed the bear and I left with a nice set of guard armor without a bounty.

You can use the console to add them to your inventory, and then remove the right amount of gold from your inventory. Just tell everyone else you bought them earlier.perylousdemon wrote:I suppose this counts as interesting, albeit also a bit annoying. For content, some of the Dremora battlecries can be rather funny when used in conjunction. (If you have a dirty mind)

Re: Funny/interesting pictures, events and stories
When I first played Oblivion, I was getting used to who M'aiq The Liar was, so I would follow him and try to catch up with him. One day I almost got him, then I started to lag badly. I caught up with M'aiq and I got a "I HAVE NO GREETING" error (Which I did fix), so I thought nothing of it. Then M'aiq glitched and ran off a hill/cliff and went unconscious, and while thinking nothing of it, an Anvil guard comes up to me and fights me without him "arresting" me first!
It was strange for sure!

Oblivion Photography!
Hey people, I thought of an idea. I decided, after much deliberation with my mirror self, to do a Oblivion Photography post!
Heres a couple of mine to start everyone off;
Hoping to see some aspiring photographers on here!
EDIT: Set Pictures as spoilers, prevents unnecessary clutter on here.

Re: Oblivion Photography!
Nice pictures BlackDrake, I like the last two especially
. They're a bit big though, you might like to change them to links, or at least resize them to 800 pixels tall by 600 pixels wide or smaller, and use spoiler tags.
Good idea though, I'll have to share some Oblivion screenies along with some Morrowind ones.

Re: Oblivion Photography!
Those are some amazing screenshots!
As a matter of fact, we used to have a major thread here dedicated to screenshots of Oblivion. It just hasn't been active for a while - but if you move your marvellous work over there, it will update at last, which would be totally topping.
Here it is, the Oblivion Photographers' Guild: http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f= ... start=1035

Re: Oblivion Photography!
Hi guys,
As a former moderator, may I refer you to the following Forum Rule?
Posting of Images - Link to the image rather than posting the image. The exceptions are sticky threads, like “Post your Character”, where images up to the size 800x600 pixels are allowed.
Your images are embedded directly (not linked to), this thread is not sticky, and they are larger than 800x600.
"Link to the image rather than posting it". This means UESP prefers you to upload your images to any of the free image hosting sites, and link to them there. A link is only a short string of text data, usually less than 100 bytes (1 byte holds 1 character). Compare that to an image which contains thousands of bytes, even after it's highly compressed in JPG or GIF format. Linking saves on UESP's server bandwidth for a start, which they have to pay for, and makes the forum faster for everyone.
This is especially important for people in poor countries who don't yet have access to broadband and still use 56K modems (max download speed 4~5K per second). Remember that placing images inside spoiler tags doesn't prevent them being downloaded. Broadband users don't notice because the images download SO fast that they're often in place even before you can get the spoilers open, but modem users WILL notice a VAST difference. The page will download EXTREMELY slowly from their point of view. You should also respect that many users are on limited bandwidth contracts with their ISP, e.g. 1Gb download limit per month, and even these are an expensive luxury. If a user exceeds their monthly limit, they're either charged per Mb or automatically "upgraded" to an even more expensive "unlimited downloads" contract. In poor countries, ISP's have limited total bandwidth to share amongst users on the same network segment (e.g. 1Mbit shared amongst 50 or more 56K modem users), and ISP's tend to squeeze as many users onto a segment as possible, to save costs. Users who "hog" bandwidth cause other users sharing their segment to suffer VERY slow downloads too, hence generating complaints to the ISP, forcing them to upgrade to higher total bandwidth. And who foots the bill for the higher costs? The users, via price increases.
Thanks in advance for your attention and understanding.

Re: Funny/interesting pictures, events and stories
Being annoyed by a program misbehaving is no excuse for deliberately "overlooking" a forum rule you were obviously well aware of. Even MS Paint (a Windows Accessory since the year dot) can resize an image, and there are freeware image editors that can do it even better (Paint.NET, PhotoFiltre, GIMP). A few grams more muscular effort from the mouse click finger, perhaps?

Anyway... I recently upgraded to a Windows 7 powered 64-bit quad-core PC with 8Gb RAM and a 1Gb Geforce GTX 560 (DirectX 11, SM5.0) video card. I now have Oblivion running with Qarl's Texture Pack 3, ALL of the Unique Landscapes mods and Really Almost Everything Visible When Distant (RAEVWD) installed, and it's silky smooth at 40fps average. Those mods would have had my old 32-bit PC flat on its back gasping "That's it! I'm done! 10fps? You'll be lucky if you get less than 10spf out of me, mate!". And no, that's NOT a typo. SPF = Seconds Per Frame, so less IS better!
Once this has been merged with the Photographer's Guild thread, I'll post LINKS to some screenies.

I have an interesting and fun relationship with Jakben Imbel. Ever since I snatched the Boots of the Springheel Jack from him, he turns up in my game. I mean he shows up in really weird places like when I presenting the Sword of Chorrol to the countess or in Bruma or anywhere, really. Of course I go down to his catacombs now and again to loot and mess with his vampires. I like to keep his interest up. He's been one of the most fun characters in the game for me. I love him to pieces, actually.

My sister was doing Whodunit. After killing everyone in the house, she decided to play with the bodys. she moved the dark elfs body over some random guy's body. A few minutes later we looked at the body of the man to see his name was Nels The Naughty got a good laugh.

That one steward in Bruma who runs up to you and scares to poop out of you and gives you the 25 gold to lure you to talk to the Countess is annoying, so it's funny to run away from him and run him off a ledge over and over again until he dies.

Once I was training in the middle of the Imperial City, and a fight broke out. It wasn't me! I had the Everscamps with me, so that might have done something... I did get a lot of cool stuff, and one of the named guards is walking around without his armour.

I once fast-travelled on horseback to a Camp I thought was empty but it wasn't and I was immediately set upon by several Bandits! I dismounted, killed them one-by-one, then turned around and nearly fell off my chair laughing when I saw the predicament my poor horsey was in (screenshot)!
