Could you marry Alvor? (the blacksmith from the demos)
Random question, I know, but I'm curious.
From what I understand, it's possible to marry almost any NPC. However, what if the NPC was already married?

You probably won't be able to marry any NPC that is married already.Kavatch99 wrote:Random question, I know, but I'm curious.

Unless it's possible to kill the spouse and retain a decent disposition...?

Re: Could you marry Alvor? (the blacksmith from the demos)
I'm slightly curious as to the coding of the whole relationship ordeal honestly. For example:
Say a male character kills a male NPCs wife.
Male character then tries to romance the male NPC who's wife he killed.
A few things could happen:
1. "You killed my wife, I hate you. GUARDS!"
2. "I'm straight, what are you doing? GUARDS!"
3. "Okay baby, let's get hitched."
You effectively either: Just committed murder and got sent to jail. Just committed murder and got rejected AND sent to jail. Just committed murder and converted an NPC.
Just sayin.

Why does it seem like you people forgot that the NPC in question doesn't even have to know that you murdered their spouse?

My understanding is that there will be a relatively small number of npcs that you can marry. You have to be able to raise their disposition quite high due to doing a lot of nice things for them, so I'm guessing only people that give out at least one quest will be possible to marry.

Re: Could you marry Alvor? (the blacksmith from the demos)
So I guess it boils down to...
Is Alvor married? Would he be interested in a male or female Dovahkiin?
We'll have to find out when the game comes. Who will be the first to case his joint and learn his schedule?

Not that it's too important, but I just thought I should mention everyone in Skyrim is Bisexual (99% sure)

The second option where the person says they are straight was removed, I'm assuming in response to the revelation that all dateable npcs are bi.

OK Osiris, you've made your point three times now. I ask you to leave something alone if it bothers you and move on before you cross the line into flaming.

Favorite thing in that thread is the wishing Alistair was gay, lol. Me too.Incurable Pessimist wrote:Err, there was some big thread about it a month or so ago, let me see if I can dig it up.AeraDunmerMoon wrote:Evidence?Incurable Pessimist wrote:Not that it's too important, but I just thought I should mention everyone in Skyrim is Bisexual (99% sure)

And to save myself from bumping that thread, I don't think there will be remarks or slurs towards the sexuality of your character, even though it will be a little unrealistic. I don't think they want the LGBT community all over them because of something they could have easily fixed. And by saying "It's to add gameplay, there was racism and sexism in there too!" That just...doesn't look good... Not to mention, Howard already said that it wasn't a big deal and more or less just thrown in there to suit players of the LGBT community, like myself.
So, is everyone in the game able to be in a romance with you or is it only a select few? Or those two things combined...?

Re: Could you marry Alvor? (the blacksmith from the demos)
The last time anyone official said anything on the matter, they said only a select number of characters are available for marriage.
