The problem isn't with the rules, it's with members using common sense. I personally feel that if you ruin the game by showing the cards, you should be excluded from the next one or two.
You guys are trying to fill the ocean with buckets. It doesn't need any more water.

Those are the same rules, reworded slightly to bring them up to the times (we've been using worshippers instead of werewolves for example). I think everyone is in agreement upon them?
Meh I don mind I just want to see what it was like and I promise I won't reveal any cards next time.

Okay, I think that we've seen a resolute NO for the protector role, so I've removed the poll (4 yes, 11 no) so we can poll anything else that's needed to be discussed (although I don't think that there are any prevailing issues).
One possible question, is whether we want a limit on the number of contestants, and if so, what that limit should be. The polls option is not working as it should, so could you please include a vote in your post, out of the options:
Sorry guys, I'm interrupting, but I really like these Molag Bal games. I have read Game 8 and 9 but the rules of Game X just confuses me a bit. So anyone who knows the rule and doesn't mind helping out a newbie, please post it here. It would be very much appreciated.
"I have weighed your heart and you have been found wanting."
* Host
* Worshipper
* Villager (Seer)
* Villager (Protector) - possibly, although it doesn't look like it at present
* Villager
The players' roles are picked by the Host. There should be one Host, two Worshippers, one Seer and the rest of the players should be Villagers.
The Host will pick who the players are and send Private Messages to these players to let them know what they are.If you do not receive a PM, you are a villager.
Two players are now secretly Worshippers. They are trying to slaughter everyone in the village. Everyone else is an innocent mortal Villager; but one of the Villagers secretly has the Second Sight, and can detect corruption.
The Game: Night and Day:
The game proceeds in alternating night and day phases. We begin with Night.
At Night, the Host sends a Private Message to the two Worshippers, who will then confer with each other and pick a player to murder.
The Seer then sends a Private Message to the Host and then picks a player. The Host will then reply, saying if the player chosen is a Worshipper or a Villager.
The Host will then tell all the players who has been killed, and the player will tell everyone what he was. He cannot reveal any other information apart from what he was.
Now it is Day. Daytime is very simple; all the living players gather in the village and lynch somebody. The mob wants bloody justice.
As soon as a majority of players vote for a particular player to die, his or she is killed and has his or her card revealed, allowing the rest of the players find out whether they've lynched a Villager, a Worshipper, or the Seer.
There are no restrictions on speech, in character. Any living player can say anything he wants; truth, misdirection, nonsense, or barefaced lie.
Contrariwise, dead players may not speak at all. As soon as the sun comes up and the Host indicates that someone is dead, he may not speak for the rest of the game. No dying soliloquies allowed. Similarly, as soon as a majority vote indicates that a player has been lynched, he is dead. If he wants to protest his innocence or reveal some information, like the seer's visions, he has to do it before the vote goes through.
No player may reveal his card, to anyone.
Once a player is lynched, night falls and the cycle repeats. Everyone closes their eyes, the Worshippers secretly select someone to kill, the seer secretly learns another player's status; then the sun rises, one player is found dead, and the remaining players begin to discuss another lynching. Repeat until one side wins.
Winning:
The Villagers win if they kill both Worshippers.
The Worshippers win if they kill enough Villagers so that the numbers are even. Two Worshippers and two Villagers, or one Worshipper and one Villager. At that point they can rise up and slaughter the Villagers openly.
In Case It's Not Totally Clear:
The Villagers are trying to figure out who's a Worshipper; the Worshippers are pretending to be Villagers, and trying to throw suspicion on real Villagers.
The seer is trying to throw suspicion on any Worshippers he discovers, but without revealing himself to be the Seer, because if he does, the Worshippers will almost certainly kill him that night, since he's the greatest threat to Worshippers' security. Of course the Seer can reveal himself at any time, if he thinks it's worthwhile to tell the other players what he's learned. Also of course, a Worshipper can claim to be the seer and reveal anything he wants.
The only information the Villagers have is what other players say and who dies. Accusing someone of being a Worshipper is suspicious. Not accusing anyone is also suspicious. Agreeing with another player a lot is suspicious, and therefore so is pretending not to agree with another player. Never voting to kill a particular player is very suspicious for both of them unless it's the seer who knows that player is innocent.
Well, I'd say that more than 12 players could get a little confusing, and that having more than 16 could end up in chaos (says the girl who lobbied for extra spots in the last game ). The reason I'm voting this way is that the players really do need to be able to watch each other's actions, and to get to know each other, without having to read through too much. At the end of the day, the Molag Bal games work best if they're fast-paced - this is more possible with fewer players.
Aye. I say fewer players as well. People compained about having to read too much last game. And then we were only like 12. (Yes, I know it was mostly about the spoiler-tags and trailing off).
Thank you OblivionDuruza. And, as Leilah said, I would like to reserve a spot. I haven't yet participated in one the Molag Bal games so I would very well like to. If it's possible, I wanna be in the game!

Let's try to keep spoiler tagged conversation to a minimum this time. If there is a genuine need to discuss something, it might be better in the RP GD. Let's perhaps keep spoilers down to announcements and the like this time. How does that sound?
Oh, and do we have to have a colour? 'Cos I just found it easy to just take a quick glimpse at the player's name then to read the coloured text. Kind of hurt my eyes.
"I have weighed your heart and you have been found wanting."
No, I think it should be optional, but not required, from the responses to this thread. If someone uses a colour that is difficult to read, you can ask them to change, but remember to do it nicely.
It goes without saying that I want a spot too. But maybe we should leave the spot reserving for later? I mean, we've got to give new people the chance to join as well. And since this is basically a party game we could have two MBGs active simultaenously.
