Why wouldn't it be an advertisement?

Also, one thing every hands-on reviewer has in common is that they all get one word in "Bleak Falls Barrow" wrong and they all do the exact same quest we've seen 1000 times in the demo. And it infuriates me. If I had 3 hours to explore Skyrim, I'd stay as far away from Riverwood as possible just to make my article more interesting for the readers.

Well, in Denmark, there hasn't been anything to tell that it's coming. The only ad I've seen was in Berlin this saturday.

If I never went on the Internet, I would not heard a peep about Skyrim since the VGAs, except for the occasional GTTV. But I hardly ever watch that.

I would have known because I frequently check the local multimedia store catalogues. But there have been no official ads whatsoever in Greece.

That store in Berlin had a two-story poster, but nothing inside the store.

I really don't think they've been big on advertising. They seem to trust the coverage they get in the press and in the fandom.

I'm the same, I haven't seen any advertising for Skyrim. I've seen one cutout in France, and another in an EB Games here, behind a bunch of other advertisements. I did see the first trailer playing there once too, but yeah, they haven't advertised much. I can remember a host of TV ads for Fallout: New Vegas.

I'll be even more disappointed if it's just an advertisement. That's just lazy. Skyrim can stand on it's own engine, it doesn't need live action advertisements to sell it. Breaking out into different kinds of media will definitely help the series by attracting new fans and allowing for them to tell stories in different ways. If it's just an entirely pointless advertisement, I will be disgusted at the wasted opportunity for the Elder Scrolls to grow in different directions.

That's a good point, live action ads seem a bit pointless for a game. Particularly one like Skyrim. Hmmmm ....

You can say that again, it was pretty good, and smother than anything that they could do with a game. Still, some sort of cinematic showing off the engine would have been cool too, but I guess that would require man hours. Perhaps they've used Live Action because it can be handled by other people entirely? That, or it's an appeal to new fans.

Apparently the Skyrim strategy guide is 650 pages long. I have the Oblivion GotY guide with all the DLC included and it is 544 pages long. Looks promising.

What are you even talking about? First, do you even know what elitist means? How am I expressing the belief that only a few people should be treated more favorably based on their status in the world, or claiming I'm a member of this group?

They stand to make no money from this, an actual ad depicting the game would better to advertise it. Currently, this seems to exist for seemingly no explained reason, as it doesn't do a good job advertising the game.

When did I ever even mention Fallout? Or the next Elder Scrolls game? I was talking about creating more content in different mediums.
