A few little details from game guide blurb.

Post by River »

Ok so looking at Amazon they have put up the blurb for the game guide, most of it is normal blurbs stuff but a few interesting bits of info. A couple of minor spoilers and one kind of bigger one so read on at your own risk.
Spoiler:
It says it shows you where all rare items are including dragon priest masks! - wonder if they have special abilities? If they all look the same etc. It also shows where to find unusual gems!? And captured critters?! Does this mean, hunting trophies? Or maybe we can start a zoo! :) It then talks about traders and mentions Kahjit Caravans! Which is cool! And then (biggest spoiler coming up!) it says
Build your friendships across Skyrim and locate every Follower with information inside this guide. Become a Thane.
a thane is a kind of lesser lord! Definition:
a. a person of rank, often the chief of a clan, holding land from the king
b. a lesser noble who was a Crown official holding authority over an area of land
so we could rule our own little area?

Has anyone felt the feeling of being so excited that you do not have the ability to think, just want? Your heart skips a beat.... Or just stops until you get the game.

When I saw the first khajiit screenshot I thought my head would blow up with all of the excitement.

Game guides: For people without internet or friends (that play the same game as them.) and need help with everything...and also who dont read the manual XD. I usually dont read the manual right away, though I usually skim through a few pages than after playing it for a long time read through it in detail to make sure I dont miss anything.

Personally I LOVE game guides (and I have plenty of internets and friends! ;-) ). I just love the quality of the books, immersing myself in reading up on character creation, back stories and so-on (depends on the game, and the guide).

I'm currently reading my Oblivion one in preparation for the Big Day. I never use them to "cheat" at games, only really looking at either the "meta" type stuff (like the aforementioned character creation) or when I think I have really completed an area, just to check on any minor details I may have missed.

I'm also currently leafing through the Deus Ex: HR one. As it's my first run through the game, I've just read the intro sections and the bits on augmentations and weapon upgrades, coupled with bits of the walkthrough that I have essentially completed as I go along.

Thanks for posting those extra details, though: much appreciated.

Cmon man, game guides are about so much more than just walking you through the game. There is a lot of strategy, art and other bits that are more than worth it.

river you should be a corporate spy or something, this guy must either work for a dev or one of the magazines/websites if he dont he should cuz he knows all.

^ this or your just a real loser and have too much time on ur hands in ur mom's basement, either way, hail river! (just a joke plz dont be upset)

I\d like to write a game guide, but i have a feeling its hard to get an advance copy of the game and scour every little thing, they must get the game early or all the info from the devs
