Character creation video.

Post by Vendetta »

I am pretty sure this was of someone that got to play a bit of skyrim at PAX. He recorded the screen. Nonetheless, we have some character creation footage.

In my opinion, it does feel a bit more pre-set. Like a Dragon Age 2 type character creation, but they did avoid making your character look ugly with a slight slider movement, that is, if you didn't think they where ugly in the first place. :P

From the small clip I have seen, character creation gets an 8/10 from me.

Hmm... Doesn't exist yet.

I have not seen one with enough features and the ability to change every little body and facial detail without making the character look terrible.
But skyrim does look like a step in the right direction.

Aha.
I was thinking something along those lines.
You should be able to use a Kinect device (not that I hVe one of those contraptions) to use your real face ingame, too. That would be nifty.

That has actually been done with a wrestling game, I forget the name. But it takes 10 mins to load and it just is not ready for practical gaming use yet, not good enough quality.

Thanks for the vid Vendetta. The creation is pretty close to what I thought it would be, which is pretty good. Can anyone tell from the video if the scars/warpaint are the same or different between races?

I think there's a range of tones each race has.
To see the world in a grain of sand
And heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.

Hopefully it is not like in an MMO where there are only 5 skin tones..

Well there would have to be some differences, at the very least between the beast races and the man/mer races. Head shape alone would count for something.
