The Elder Scrolls Chronicles: Thunder Valley

Post by mcjordalini »

This is my first RP ever, and I am not sure how good the plot/ and setting is. I thought I'd keep this RP pretty small since it is my first one, so I don't want to have too many people playing. The setting, plot, rules, and character sheet are inside the spoiler below. I tried my best to use official lore and events that have happened in The Elder Scrolls series.

Enjoy !

*UPDATE*: I forgot to mention that I will not only be the NPC's, but I will also act as your quest journal .. Kinda of like in Morrowind. So I will be giving you "journal logs" from time to time.
Spoiler:

It is the 3rd Era, year 430. The events of Thunder Valley take place between Morrowind and Oblivion; three years after Morrowind, and three years before the events of Oblivion and The Red Year. Thunder Valley is a small island between Summerset Isle, and Valenwood, between the coasts of Skywatch, and Woodhearth. Thunder Valley has a strange weather pattern, as it interrupts the usual, warm, and sunny, climate that Summerset Isle and Valenwood share, with its frequent storms. The physical geography of Thunder Valley is interesting, because of its circular shape, that has a gaping hole in the center with a never ending violent whirl pool, a torrential down poor, and constant thunder and lightning storms, which has left the inhabitants of Thunder Valley puzzled for hundreds of years, and has not been fully explored yet, due to the vicious storm and whirl pool that prevents scholars and adventurers from getting close to the center and studying the many wonders that the body of water in the center of the island has yet to be discovered.

Thunder Valley was founded by the head-of-state of Morrowind shortly after “modern” Morrowind was formed (circa 1E 700), in 1E 746, between the events of Randic Torn’s death (1E 737), and Divad Hunding’s birth (1E 760). The capital city of Grey Fall is run by a single Dunmer by the name of Fernos Milar, and his council. Fernos Milar’s council members are called "Thunder Priests", and values the main views of House Redoran. Fernos Milar and his council are constantly leaving the island of Thunder Valley to go to Mournhold, or the Imperial City, Palace District to deal with the political issues that Tamriel encounters. Since Thunder Valley is run, and was founded by the same head-of-state that runs Morrowind (Tribunal), it has a very heavy Dunmeris influence with architecture and religion. Fernos Milar is part of House Redoran and has brought the beliefs and principles of said Great House into the majority of Thunder Valley, (though a few small cities or settlements have arranged their own religious beliefs and architectural preferences).

Image
Rumours have been spreading fast throughout the land of Tamriel of plans that an organized group wants to assassinate Uriel Septim VII. Cyrodiil is need of help, and no province is wanting to come to their aid. Fernos Milar, the leader of a small island between Summerset Isle and Valenwood, called Thunder Valley had caught wind of these rumours from a messenger on his council of Thunder Priests who had travelled to Cyrodiil to do business with the Elder Council. Fernos Milar had sent out an announcement looking for a group of heroes to confirm these rumours, and hopefully put an end to the unnamed group’s plans to assassinate Uriel Septim VII, in hopes to gain a great reward for saving The Emperor’s life.

This is where you come in. You’re a lucky citizen, selected by the Thunder Priests and ripped from your homes and lives to assemble a group to investigate, and put a stop to the rumours of assassination of the Emperor.

6) Have fun. (:

I'm always interested in a TES RP, so I'll join and see how I go with time.

Name: Indoril Thoryn
Age: 60s
Gender: Male
Race: Dunmer
Appearance: Thoryn is grey ash-skinned with hair the colour of ravens and eyes as red as the foyadas. He is of about average hight amongst his people, with a relatively muscled build. A scar runs along his upper left arm, a memento of a battle of old.
Place of Birth: Almalexia
Great House: Great House Indoril
Profession: Warrior Priest
Favoured/ Major Skill: Blade
Armour: A full set of Indoril Armour
Weapon: An Ebony Longsword and a Bonemold Long Bow, with Chitin and Bonemold Arrows.
Wealth: In Morrowind, Thoryn had much wealth, due to the position of his family, however, Thoryn gave up this wealth and ventured across Tamriel, serving the Temple with humble piety and respect. In essence, Thoryn lives from day to day, as he travels Tamriel, he has little wealth.
Strengths: Thoryn trained for many years as a Dunmer Knight and Crusader. He is skilled in the traditional Dunmer integrated combat of Blade, Bow and Destructive Magic, and is particularly proficient with a Blade. He prefers Medium and Light Armours, and is a fair smith. He has a basic knowledge of herbs and plants and is a student of the schools of Mysticism and Restoration. As a priest and noble, Thoryn is also a sophisticated orator. In addition, Thoryn is blessed with the natural resistance to fire that all Dunmer possess, and is protected by his Ancestral Spirits. Being born under the Warrior, Thoryn is more nimble and evasive than common folk.
Weaknesses: While Thoryn is a skilled warrior and a devout follower of the Temple and its teachings, he is by no means the most powerful warrior in Tamriel. His combat style relies on agility and speed, as much as power and strength. As such, he is untrained in more brutal forms of combat. In essence, Thoryn is as susceptible to physical harm as other mortal men, and cannot compare to the warriors of the Orcs or Nords in brute strength and endurance.
Morality: Good
Family: Thoryn is a son of House Indoril, and was born into wealth and prosperity.

Edit: For some reason I was missing appearance. Must have accidentally deleted the field when I copied the form

From what I understand, being a member of a Great House is not essential, and neither is being a Dunmer. Just a coincidence the first two submissions chose to be so. I do love the Dunmer

Yea, 5 players is the cap that I am letting play. Only reason is 'cause this is my first RP. :p Trying to keep it simple, you know ?

EDIT: I am just adding all your characters to my word documents, and sorting all the information for the RP right now. :)

This is true. You do not have to be a Dunmer, or part of a great house. You can be who ever you would want to be. (:

"Here, take these papers with the peoples names that you must track down, and bring them to me.", Fernos ordered.

"Yes, sir." Mamvil exclaimed attentively.

Thoryn had been hiking through the mountains for several days, but finally, his destination was in sight. He had recently returned to Morrowind, and had travelled across the Deshaan Plains to Mounrhold. Now he was heading back to Cyrodiil, and after an arduous trek through the Velothis, he could finally see Cheydinhal in the distance.

Thoryn had heard a noise that caught his ear off in the Easterly direction in the distance. It sounded of metal clashing upon metal, harsh grunting, and yelling.

Cautiously, Thoryn changed his heading, easing his blade out of its sheath, preparing for action. He came over a ridge, readying himself for battle.
