Dwanum waited. Nothing happened. Dwanum looked into the den and was sneezed on. The bear was still alive, but it didn't do anything. He looked down again at the bear. It had a confused look on his face and it whimpered. The bear had the pick stuck in his foot. Dwanum, with great caution, approached the little bear. The bear was bleeding, bad. Dwanum forgot about food and Shama and ripped of some cloth from his clothes. He ripped the pick from the bears paw. The bear moaned, but did nothing. Dwanum wrapped the cloth around its paw.

Beleg charged over to the den, pushing past the Dwarven woman. He looked at the Dwarf who was tending to the injured bear.
"Go. I will take care of this. Travel down the path for a mile or so. You will find my hut. It is in an alcove borded by some trees. You will find food there. You can stay the night. Take your wife. Go now! These parts are dangerous during the night."
Dwanum told Shama about what he was told and they ran. They felt great that they were about to get real food and rest, but scared about going into a stranger's home. They found the hut at last and waited at the door.

Sav, you can go off on your own adventures before leaving for Brethil. It will be a long, long, dangerous journey. Through forests, mountains, barbarian camps, orc patrols, everything.
Dwanum became worried about the man. Is he coming? Is the bear kill him? Did he kill the bear? He like that bear. He kept this to himself, but he named it pick-paw.
