Is it me, or does every GOOD game that come out have an m rating (u.s.) except for a few exceptions?

i'm looking at all of my games, and EVERY one of them are rated m except LBP2.

am i the only one that is glad it's rated m, like if it was rated t i'd be dissapointed or something?

anyways, yay for decapitation. but as they've said, it's not excessively violent like fo3. it's toned down. so, yay!
Not changing this until Skyrim comes out, and even then, I'll probably be too busy... playing Skyrim...

It's like there's some kind of industry requirement for it.

Spoiler:
good thing I already have a TvTropes tab open at all times, or I'd be there all day.
For me it depends on what it is rated M for, if it for blood and gore, it depends on whether or not it can be turned on or off. If it is for the suggestive material... well, I'll avoid those spots...

They spelled "Dovahkiin" wrong. Thus their arguments are automatically invalid.

Also..

Some sequences allow players to injure/kill nonadversary characters, including prisoners chained to a wall; they scream in pain amid splashes of blood or fire.

It got rated M in the US for "sexual themes" use of alcohol, graphic violence.

Someone, tell me how use of alcohol in a game can bump the rating?

Easy, because alcohol is the root of all evil.

But seriously though, we already had a heated debate of ratings a few weeks back.

bethesda should release an optional update that just makes it like rated x, you think some stupid censors are gunna stop anyone who played a bethesda game not buy it? IMO anyone that thinks that is using prescription drugs and/or recreational ones in ways they shouldnt. Its a video game, if you cant distinguish between fantasy and reality you just belong in an asylum anyways. and if its an optional update all the kids out there that bought it can just lie about their age like they already do to watch trailers, im not saying addanime [&@%!] scenes or nothing, but seriously, its only a video game, 16 yr old do worse [&@%!] in real life then they can in any video games, when i was 16 i was a dumb punk kid and played with gasoline and matches and smashed garden gnomes, if someone just made a video game about that i woulda just stayed home n did it instead of terrorizing the neighborhood lol (exageration aside, such stringent rules on things like video games and movies is nothing more then an extremely minor annoyance and means nothing.) all those kids will cry until they get their cookies anyways, turn up the realism cuz when u hit someone in the arm with a sword in real life that arm is gone, and teaching kids otherwise seems irresponsible to me.

The original oblivion release was only a 15, they threatened to up it to 18 because of the body mods. The GOTY is still only an 15. So I guess skyrim will be roughly the same content wise.

In Aus, Skyrim is a rating up, from Oblivion's M to MA. The rating can't change because of mods, although Oblivion was subject to controversy because of some nude meshes included with the game, that a mod later used.
