How do survive the waiting?
Greetings to you
I bring you another poll! I believe now with Skyrim so close (yet so very, very far away), this question will be fitting. What do you do to pass the time before Skyrim comes out?
Personally, I feel like a kid before christmas...That ridiculous longing you feel, if you remember. Well, it's back, it's familiar, and I don't like it one bit. I think about Skyrim basically as soon as I log on to my computer, and without my guitar, I've got nothing to distract myself with besides work and Starcraft 2.
What do you guys do to pass the Skyrimian Longing? (That should totally be an expression, calling it now)

I used to make polls, but then I took an arrow in the knee.

Food, dogs, FiM, stupid statement remixes, TF2, Tvtropes, Monty Python, icecream, studying.. None of these things help!

I work. It helps. The weekends are tough though.

Re: How do survive the waiting?
Yeah...Like now...Starcraft is a good remedy but it is, sadly, insufficient. I knew I should've brought more games here...Oh well, brb, pulling a Cartman and freezing myself.

I listen to Eminem and learn the lyrics. Then at night I drink and I cut my wrists.

See how many times I can beat Max Payne consecutively before I get sick of it.
Also, I've taken up sketching.

Re: How do survive the waiting?
I have school to distract me most of the day, when after I get home, or on the weekend, I have nothing to do to distract me much.... It's so easy to remember stuff that you did months ago, and how the time went by so fast, but it's hard to wait for the months to pass.

Re: How do survive the waiting?
I eat a lot. But I'd be doing that even without Skyrim's imminent release, so instead my answer will be "I play a lot of Minecraft". Then again, I'd be doing that without Skyrim's imminent release, too...so I just try not to think about it.

I got a laugh out of option 2, but really I just don't think about it.

Ring-a-ding, baby.

I play Prius Online. And stalk these forums. Depends on the day as to which I do more.

Re: How do survive the waiting?
I have a really great system for it. I play a game for two days then move on to the next one. Each day the game I play is more and more related to Skyrim until I get to Oblivion. The day after I play Oblivion Skyrim will be mine.

Re: How do survive the waiting?
Gaming... Rage. Bethesda can't do wrong.
Re: How do survive the waiting?
I'm currently playing rage and dark souls, and morrowind. But every hour i think to myself, "well... It isn't skyrim".
Mostly just gaming gets my mind off it partially, but nothing is going to make me think of it anyless, not even skyrim itself.
And browsing these forums everyday doesn't help either.

Not changing this until Skyrim comes out, and even then, I'll probably be too busy... playing Skyrim...

Re: How do survive the waiting?
I tried the whole "Just don't think about it and play Team Fortress 2 or something while you wait to make it go by faster" thing. But after nine months of Skyrim feeling lightyears away, I was suddenly hit with an unbelievable ammount of excitement when I realized it's only a few weeks away now. So I can't stop thinking about it. All day, every day, all I think about is Skyrim. I whistle the theme for hours on end while I'm at work, I watch the gameplay videos at least once per-day, and I've played Oblivion a couple hours each day to get my TES fix.
I've just blown my entire paycheque & GST cheque on upgrading my computer to play Skyrim. It's cost me over a thousand dollars if you factor in the new computer I bought, upgrades, and buying Skyrim itself.
I intend to preload Skyrim on steam and activate it at 12:00am on 11/11/2011. No if's, and's or but's. I made sure I'd get a week off of work, I've rejected women's offers for dates, and I've argued my parents into submission until they agreed to leave me alone for that one week.
That week will be Skyrim week, and it will be glorious.
So to answer the original question; I can't help myself, I have to surround myself with the Elder Scrolls all day every day until November 11th. It's going surprisingly well though, time is flying. Is it 6:30AM already? Didn't notice, I was busy revisiting the Udderfykte Matron and arranging Svenja's corpse on my bed in Bruma.

Re: How do survive the waiting?
I've got other interests, and so much damned school work I hardly have time to worry about it. Plus I was in France for almost a month, so that has kept me sufficiently distracted and halved the wait since last month

Probably making it worse, but signing up to the forum was my solution to surviving the last month of waiting.

Yeah this forum is a death trap. But there are some nice people here <3 It's a cozy place to internet chill at.

Re: How do survive the waiting?
I think I'd have less of a difficult time with it if I didn't stop playing Oblivion a few months ago.
Summer was too busy to have any down-time and enjoy it, and now that it's so close to Skyrim I don't want to get back into it - that way I'm starting with a clean slate
