I bought the Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings a few days ago for an absolute steal and I'm finding it AMAZING. The visuals are wonderful and I'm finding the story surprisingly fun yet deep and avoiding most of the RPG clichés. I'd recommend it to anyone with a PC that could handle it.

Zelda:OoT (3DS), Minecraft, League of Legends, Fallout 3(PC), and I may get Dungeon Defenders and/or Orcs Must Die! when they are released. If I don't decide to get Witcher 2 at long last that is.

Been playing 'Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines' recently. It's an old game, but still really fun. It's very buggy, but with the unofficial patch added to it most of them are ironed out. There aren't many games I know of that you play as a vampire, it's got everything from politics to warfare and is quite the refreshing change from your usual 'Hero' games.

I'm playing Crysis 2 (again) trying to beat it on Veteran difficulty. There are a few parts that prove troublesome, and I'm at one of those parts...

Neverwinter Nights.
At least, the Multiplayer servers, anyways.
I got extremely tired of the darkness of the city in the campaign.

I beat Crysis 2 on Veteran difficulty about an hour ago. Now I'm going to try Super Soldier difficulty tomorrow if I have time.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
Managed to fix my XBox, so I'm switching between Oblivion and Red Dead Redemption on that,
playing Medieval:Total War 2, Morrowind and Diablo 1 on my laptop.
Diablo is such a great game, gotta be one of the all-time classics.

Currently playing through the campaign of Space Marine. I'm a big Warhammer 40k nerd and this game is completely living up to my expectations! It doesn't exactly offer an intriguing story or developed characters (which is a shame because some of the 40k novels do) but the action and set-pieces are fantastic.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
If your a fan of the Diablo series, I really recommend trying out 'Titan Quest' if you haven't already. It's essentially the same type of game (random loots, special items, charms, the whole Diablo shabang) but it's set in ancient times with Greek, Egyptian and Asian mythological creatures and gods. There are a lot more classes also, and the graphics and the whole world feel is beautiful.Believe wrote:Diablo is such a great game, gotta be one of the all-time classics.
Titan Quest is by no means a short game either, it takes a long time to get from start to finish(especially if you have the expansion). Not only that but it works like the Diablo in the difficulty side of things, you play through at normal then you go through epic, and then finally you go through legendary. The difficulties aren't carbon copies of each other either, there are added side quests and new creatures to uncover the higher you go (I haven't actually got that far into epic, chronic restart syndrome follows me into any rpg game).
In fact, i actually prefer Titan Quest to Diablo. It's takes all the good things from it, and slams it into a beautiful world that hasn't got a random generated map system which annoyed me to no end in Diablo. Instead of everything being empty, you have a lot of detail in this game which adds to immersion. One minute you will be walking along a dusty road, the next you will be fighting Centaurs in a corn field with burning farm houses, and then suddenly you arrive at an old Greek temple ruin swarming with undead. In one act of the campaign you even end up in the underworld fighting the legion of Hades himself...
Even with all that I just said it doesn't really do the game justice. It is by far the best hack'n'slash diablo-type-game I have ever played, even beating the game its initial idea was based on.
Don't worry about having a fast computer either, this game looks and runs better then Morrowind which I actually have trouble running on my cheap arse laptop. I have some crappy integrated graphics card and it has no trouble running it on low-medium settings, even though this game is only about as old as Oblivion.

Killing Floor. The game probably took a couple of days to make but it's definitely entertaining.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
lul. I used to be in regular contact with one of the people who worked on Killing Floor as a UT2004 mod before it went retail. It took them about two years to make but the retail version basically just spruced up their models and code a bit to become standalone. So yeah, you're probably right.Lindai wrote:The game probably took a couple of days to make
Currently playing Human Revolution: The Missing Link. This is what DLC should be - more of the same, yet conspicuously different from the main game. For example, the boss can be dealt with in ways other than just shooting until the cutscene plays. And it has the same replay value as the main game.

A couple of League games a day, [Stupid Jarvan and TF ruining what could have been a streak of wins with positive KDAs
] and I'm thinking of trying Forza 4. I mean it's there.
I just need to figure out some way of sharing the Xbox with my brother. If I could do that I'd probably be able to try Dead Island, too.
