A few ideas to make UESP more active...
Suggest ideas you have for the UESP forum here, assuming grand ruler daveh reads it.
I'll start...
- Merge Redguard, Daggerfall, Arena, Travels, and other 'dead' forums together. Only Arena gets the occasional post every few months by some n0ob asking where to download it. Keep Oblivion and Morrowind as they are, though.

Reducing the number of Forums may make things neater looking, it would make finding Specific Game related Topics more difficult. I think it would be best to keep it the way it is. Although, it is Daveh's decision, and a valid suggestion.
Vesna has a good point, as Daveh doesn't check here much, as running the Wiki is very time consuming. Although Nephele does check here more often, and she might pass it on to Daveh.

I'd say this is probably the best place for a discussion about reorganizing the forums; it's why this particular forum was created in the first place. Keeping the discussion here allows the forums community to contribute more easily than a discussion on Daveh's wiki talk page. And with issues like this, it is really the community's decision that matters; Daveh needs to implement the change, but he doesn't necessarily want to make the decision unilaterally based only on his own preferences.
As for merging the forums, my opinion is that I don't think it's necessary. The topics are clearly separate topics, with basically no overlap in content. Forum members who are interested in Arena may have absolutely no interest in Daggerfalll, and vice versa: why force members to sort through unrelated threads unnecessarily to find the question they're looking for? The organization is also more similar to the wiki's organization where each game gets its own namespace.
But that's just my opinion, and I'm clearly not a regular forums user. I'd say it's more important to hear what the rest of the community thinks.

Ok, here are my ideas. To put it simply, I think this is how the index should look

Agreed. How would the Morrowind die-hards like it if someone wanted to merge them with Oblivion after TES 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 clutter up the board?codex wrote:Sorry, but I don't get the whole point in changing the layout on the forum. Improvements are fine, but imo the forum is fine as it is.

Well, I just thought that by making this forum more Oblivion-Morrowind based, and adding subforums related to each (like TES fanart, fan fiction, etc...) and some other, specific non TES related forums like Lifestyle forums etc... we could get people posting more....
Just my opinion for the day I guess.

Why do people need to post more?
There is nothing wrong with the forum. If it is not broke, don't fix it, as there is nothing to fix.
This board was a test, and was not expected to really go anywhere. It is, and always has been tied to the Wiki. It was a place to discuss things going on with the Wiki. Then it became a help Forum, unintentionally, which was a good thing. People who dug into the game, to make the Wiki, would be here, and who better to give help. None of those people still post here anymore.
The few exceptions are those of us who stuck around to make the Board an even better Help/Hint Forum. There are only about 4 of us left.
It was never inteded to be a fanboy site, to discuss your favorite weapon, or how to build a <insert Class> character. This was one of the reasons the "General Forum" was changed. To make it easier for people to search the Oblivion Forum, for help, and not have to wade through Favorite Weapon Topics.
Fortunately, some very awesome people stopped by, and hung around. The Board has become more of a Social Place, but still with the Main Point of Helping Others.
People post what they feel like posting. People post when they have the time. You can not cohearce people into posting anymore than they do.
Some people already post more than they should. If people do not have antything to add to a discussion, then they should not comment. There is no benifit to having a High Post Count. You do not become a mod by having the highest post count. Post Flooding is annoying, and clutters up the important stuff. It is a reason for not ever, ever becoming a mod. It was one of the reasons I was against the Rankings. I wanted to actually have Post Counts HIDDEN, so everyone was on the same page.
