Ballarwood: The Witch's Wrath (the second one)

Post by Duh »

New thread! Ding dang bing bang bonk!

The city of Ballarwood is a busy one. However, it is an incredibly fun and entertaining one (although it can be dangerous sometimes). Connected to the rest of Britain by the Blackstone Highway and the Blackstone Bridge, Ballarwood is a well-known region of modern Britain. It has much history. During ancient times, the Romans built a city upon a flat land that was once home to the village of a native tribe. This city evolved to become what we now know as Ballarwood.

However…during the mid-1700’s, the city grew to possess the highest population of witches during that time period. Hundreds of men and women - both innocent and guilty - were burned at the stake, drowned in the Ballar River, and beheaded at the town square. One of the most renowned of these witches was Malinda Nex, guilty, who terrorized the people of Ballarwood with her demons until being captured by the town’s witch-hunting organization in 1768. She was burned at the stake, nearly to death, and taken to the town square. There, they cut out her heart (while she was still alive), and beheaded her dead corpse. Her corpse was then thrown into the river, and her head placed on a stake beside the city’s entrance in order to “warn all incoming witches”. Over the past 300 years, Malinda Nex had been slowly forgotten, as intended by the citizens of the city. But it was rumored that her book of spells still remains in the town itself, spared from being burned to ash for fear of letting something loose upon the town. The spell book has the power to bring back such a powerful entity as Malinda Nex herself, along with her terror that had been stopped so many years ago.

Strange things have been happening around Ballarwood for quite some time now. And they have been becoming more and more common throughout the years. Could this be the spirit of Ravencroft herself, warning the people of Ballarwood of her return from the very depths of hell? It this is the fact of the matter…she must be stopped.

Right. Now, in order to join this RP, you must read the rules below.

1. I’m the Lord of the Roleplay! Fear me if you dare!!!!! :Twisted Evil:

2. You can create minor NPC’s to interact with.

3. Character relationships. Character relationships. I can’t say enough about character relationships! DEVELOP THEM!!! They will be a HUGE part of this RP. Whether you develop a hateful relationship with another character or player to the point where you wish to kill them, or even ask them out for a date and go to dinner or the movies, PLEASE DEVELOP CHARACTER RELATIONSHIPS!

4. This roleplay is unique. You can do anything at any time. Drive around town looking for a fight. Go the local pub and hang out with friends. Relax at the park and write a poem. Do a painting. Go to the casino! Look for a date. Go shopping at the mall. Take your dog for a walk. WHATEVER YOU WANT!!! Live another life in another world.

5. No one-liners, mates.

6. You can roleplay in first or third person.

7. Use…f---ing…good…grammar. Nun of thiss stuf.

8. All characters must be built off of the template below.

9. The antagonists you’ll meet in this RP are by no means pushovers. None of this “I shot him in once and instantly killed him! Then I shot the three guys behind him and ran into the building!” bullcrap. It doesn’t work like that. When you’re in combat, post what moves you make and I’ll post the outcome. Example:

Player: John threw a kick at the angry dog.

Me: The dog bit John’s ankle as the kick collided with its jaw. (just a stupid example. Obviously the dog isn’t gonna bite your foot if it smashes against his face.)

10. Be realistic, doods.

11. Have bloody fun.

Character Template

Name: Gina Panicãnu

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Ethnicity: Romanian/British

Height: 162 cm / 5,31 feet

Weight: 108 lbs

Hair Colour: Black

Eye Colour: Mix between green and brown

Appearance: Wears a black t-shirt and black jeans, a pair of tall, brown leather boots and a dark red, gold rimmed and very lon admiral's coat (with gold buttons) most times she goes outside.

Occupation: She works as a waitress in the seafood resaurant. And hates fish.

Pet: A pet tortoise named Bombshell.

Type of car: Doesn't have a driver's license, but rides a black bicycle.

History: Gina comes from a troubled family. Her father, a native of Romania, left when she was 3. Her mother, who had never had an education, picked up drinking after a few years of failed attempts at getting out of the gutter, leaving Gina to pretty much fend for herself. This has led to a quite cynical world view for Gina, who now lives alone after her mother left as well, and she consequently thinks most people are huge [censored]. She also staunchly refuses that doctors have ever done anything good, and writes psychedelic stories, hoping to get a breakthrough as a writer.

Personality: Gina is a rather glum sort of person. Meaning that she could make you depressed if she had the chance to talk to you for half an hour. Luckily for everyone, she isn't a people person, and keeps mostly to herself, except when attending school on a scholarship and working at the restaurant.

Also, due to her mother's negligence, no one ever really noticed the maniodepressic and bipolar disorder she's developed, along with light paranoia, selective Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (Only appears in a few of her vastly different mood stages), and anger spells.

Also of note is the near omnipresent desire to make snide/sarcastic/stupid/douchy comments to everything. She is generally viewed as a weirdo, and normally shunned.

Skills: Gina is good at writing, and speaks four languages fluently. Other than that, she's not half bad at math either. Her social skills are a bit lacking, though.

Fears/Phobias: Mild Harpaxophobia, insectophobia and arachnophobia

House

Appearance of house: She lives alone in the house her mother and father had bought together before she was born. The house, which is now rather run-down, is a one story redstone brick bungalow with thatched roof, with a small garden overgrown with Rhododendron bushes and moss. Inside, there is a single bathroom, a kitchen which is near obsolete, and a single bedroom. The rest of the house is devoid of furniture.

Year the house was built: 1920

Street: The house lies in the far outer end of King Street.

Oh...my....god. It's been so long since I made a character sheet this long.

I decided to make a rich female character for this one. Lt and I already discussed our characters' childhood friendship.

Character Sheet

Name: Monica St Elise

Gender: Female

Age: 21

Ethnicity: She is of Austrian, Italian, Brazilian, and French-Canadian descent. She appears very Caucasian. Yet she tans very easily.

Height: 5’9 ½ (that’s probably about 176.5 cm for all of you foreigners with your messed up metric system)

Weight: 126 lbs (57.15 kg for the non-Americans)

Hair Colour (it’s spelled color, by the way): Dark brown

Eye Colour (COLOR): Very bright blue

Appearance: Monica has an extremely lean and toned build due to one of her main professions as a kickboxer. Yet she is not so muscular that she has lost her “curvy” appearance. She maintains a delicate hourglass build. Her eyes are large and as bright as the stars, being described by her father as “diamond-like”. Monica is currently dressed for a business meeting where she is representing her father’s Canadian hotel company. She is wearing a black pencil shirt, an expensive white blouse, black high-heels, and diamond earrings.

Occupation: Personal assistant to the her father (the chairman of a large hotel company), fashion model, and professional kickboxer

Type of car: Silver Aston Martin DBS V12 (rented for her vacation in England)

History: Born in Canada, Monica is the daughter of the renowned Jacques St Elise, owner of the St Elise Hotel Company. Having set up over 160 luxury hotels across both Canada and the United States, the St Elise family is known for its immense wealth. This harmed Monica’s social life as a girl. She was often shunned due to her family’s riches. And on top of it, she was greatly mocked during her teenage years for her appearance. She was overly skinny, had very crooked teeth, wore thick glasses, and struggled with a bit of acne.
Monica’s closest friend during her entire childhood was Jane McPhial. Jane was the only one she could truly trust. They spent every spare moment with each other. However, when Jane moved away to the United Kingdom during their early teenage years, the two lost touch. Monica, fed up with being mocked, began eating extremely healthy, exercising regularly, and wearing contact lenses. In addition, she wore braces for almost 3 years, successfully straightening her teeth.
By age 18, Monica had blossomed into a very beautiful young woman. During this year, she developed a keen interest in kickboxing. She discovered that she actually had many natural talents involving martial arts.
Aside from her intensive kickboxing training, Monica became a fashion model for a popular Canadian-American magazine. She became very well-known, and is continuing to rake in large sums of money.
Recently, Monica became her father’s personal assistant. She has also received her black belt in kickboxing. Her father, wishing to build various hotels in the UK, has sent Monica to Ballarwood as a representative of St Elise Hotels in order to meet with an allied corporation based in Ballarwood. Monica is aware that Jane is currently living in this city, and she plans on surprising her old friend after the business meeting. She plans on staying at the Black Swan Hotel for two weeks.

Personality: Monica has many different sides to her personality. At times, she can be very cold-hearted and selfish. But on the other hand, she can also be very kind, considerate, and generous. She has developed many friends over the years, giving her many business contacts.
She is very close to both of her parents. And, having worked very hard to be where she is now, she is not tolerant of laziness or bad health habits. She publicly promotes exercise and good eating habits.

Skills: Monica is skilled in the fields of martial arts, business negotiations, and computers. Many of her father’s associates call her the “clever tongue”, being able to convince most people to do what she wants with her words.

Fears/Phobias: Monica is absolutely terrified of insects - even butterflies. She also has a phobia of heights, which makes her extremely uneasy during airplane flights. Yet she enjoys being in hotel rooms with a large view of the landscape surrounding the building. Ironically, these rooms are usually on the higher floors. Lastly, she has a constant fear of being watched. She apparently developed this fear during her toddler years when she stayed at a supposedly “haunted” resort on a vacation with her family.

Hotel Room

Hotel: The Black Swan

Appearance of hotel room: On the very top floor, the room has a magnificent view of Ballarwood through the large glass windows and polished French doors that lead to the balcony. The room contains 2 bedrooms, 1 large bathroom containing a Jacuzzi bathtub and a flat screen television, a large kitchen area, and a very large living room complete with a slat screen television, 3 couches, a table, and 2 chairs.

'It was a bright, sunn' Backspace, backspace, backspace. Janie McPhial stared angrily at the blinking black cursor on the screen of her computer. 'The day it all began was' Highlight, delete. Janie massage her temples. She had been trying to start her novel for weeks now. She had been hoping that, on her day off of work, she might make some progress. She sighed, slid her pale fingers behind the monitor, and turned off the computer. She stood up, kicking away the chair, and grabbed her wallet and her keys from the desk. An evening at the park would do her good. She attempted to rake her hair into something resembling order, grabbed the jacket that had been draped over the back of the chair, and headed for the door. She stepped out into a narrow hallway, which had a slight but noticeable tilt. She closed the door behind her, locked it, and walked down the stairs. Another hallway joined the apartment to the street. She ventured out, and jumped on her car, a rusty white '95 Peugeot 205 3-door. It still ran well enough. She opened the door, and got in. A few leaves were strewn acoss the windshield. She started it up, popped it into drive and turned onto the streets of Ballarwood.

Monica was flying down Blackstone Highway in her brand new, silver Aston Martin DBS V12 rental car she had recieved for her 2-week trip to England. She had just gotten out of that damn meeting with the top dogs of the hotel corporation of which her father had sent her to meet with. Christ, she'd been in there for 4 whole hours. It was like prison to her.

She was still well-dressed from the meeting. The black skirt, the high-heels, the fancy blouse - everything. At this point, she was trying to hunt down her old childhood friend: Janie McPhial. Her windows were rolled down, her American music was blasting, and her long hair was blowing through the winds that were rushing into the car through the window.
