Well thats the idea, how ever the septim blood line where ALL dragon born, while we have no proof that any one in yours besides you is or not.
So I'm unsure but to me it seems like there are "two" types of dragon born, one that runs in family, and one that is anyone.
but I could be wrong
Please explain?

Re: Please explain?
Hmmm, I think it was two types : One family that rose to prominence and the other lines fading into the obscurity of history...for a time, anyways. I could be wrong, but I thought that was how it was explained...can't remember where I saw it though...

In the speech at the end of the main quest Martin states that the player will be the one to write the next elder scroll. I think that in these games the player is seen as one who will shape the direction of the future.wise_ginger_fox wrote:Thanks for the constructive answers guys I think I get it now. After reading the posted replies a "Dragon Born" is essentially the chosen one chosen by destiny and the gods to rise up and save the realms that be from what ever the peril. And by doing this they shape the future of the Lore......... Right?

AeraDunmerMoon's last post has made the post sense with there being 2 blood lines one being hailed and the other falling through the cracks and now being called upon to fulfill the blood lines purpose in destiny

Re: Please explain?
I think I heard, in some interview or other, that there were a number of different bloodlines that were under the protection of the blades (they protect the Septims and all other dragonborn families), and that you just happen to be the last surviving bloodline. It was an early interview, I remember that much.
Though I'm not sure about any of this, but I think it's true.

No, I said that there were two groups: The Septims became famous Dragon borns and then the other lines faded into the background. I didn't say there were only two bloodlines. It's just that out of the many, the Septims became the most noticed, and thus the blades became mostly associated with them.wise_ginger_fox wrote:AeraDunmerMoon's last post has made the post sense with there being 2 blood lines one being hailed and the other falling through the cracks and now being called upon to fulfill the blood lines purpose in destiny

Ok then. How about re-read my post and change 2 to other then. Other than that my understanding seemed to match your reply pretty much.AeraDunmerMoon wrote:No, I said that there were two groups: The Septims became famous Dragon borns and then the other lines faded into the background.
