Well, basically, this version of this server is either a complete failure, or my router is destroyed, because I am having serious issues.

Yeah, Towny was terribly buggy. Besides, with the up coming release of claim blocks that mod will have absolutely no purpose.

Been playing me some serious 1.8 the last few days.

I found a cave that split into 2 parts, the left part was an abandoned mine tunnel the other went to some lava pits and the ravine.

I found 3 stacks of 64 gold in that cave... but since gold is worthless I have no idea what to do with it

You can make booster rails or gold armor. Or you can instal equivalent exchange mod and transmute it into diamonds!

Why waste it on armour? Turn it into tools, they're quicker than diamond.

Yeah, gold is to rare and weak to use as tools. Besides clocks, gold isn't really good for anything besides as decoration or as a part of a minecart system.

Nope, it was changed ages ago. Try it yourself if you don't believe me. Gold tools can't collect resources from ores, but they break mundane blocks a percentage quicker than diamond.
