Re: Will you have a Skyrim release party?
I'm not gonna have any beer because it cuts down on my ability to function while playing these games.
If i can come up with any performance enhancers which allow me to sit still in a state of deep concentration for long periods, however, i will light those up and get into it

Re: Will you have a Skyrim release party?
No party for me.
I'll go to the store talk with other random people picking up their copies.
Go home get a Gatorade out of the fridge and a bag of Hot fries or Hot funyuns pop in the game and play for hours.
Thankfully like a fellow UESP member my wife likes TES enough and we both are gamers.

We'll all play Oblivion while we're waiting for release and get some JagerA-bombs.

I will try to get it in 11/11/11 and if i do i will party but alone
since my cousin who lives in a different city and i will only talk to me by phone to see if one of us hasn`t got a copy so that the other can say that he will be the first to play to make the other one jealous and etc is the only person who also likes TES that i know pesonally.
If there is one thing that needs to be said countless times is that:

Lol I've only really got one mate who's into TES. But even then, his vernacular goes a little like "The lizard people," "That assassin group," "I think it was a Wood Elf," and "We don't have to play as a Viking though do we?"
Safe to say he'll be buying Skyrim at some stage, and really liked Obliv, but not to the point where he'll have much of an opinion on how cool the addition of duel wielding is or how much of a difference there'll be with the historical events between the games, or the interactions between the races and how they'll progress with the advancement in technology and most likely narrative detail.

All my friends will be talking about it in school so that would be kinda the party i guess, I'd prefer to play it alone.

Re: Will you have a Skyrim release party?
See even with the wife who loves to play... she'll be watching the kids.
I have only 2 other mates that care to play TES. Both are in different states. Gone are the days of lining the TV's up and having 4 or 5 consoles going at once, finishing school on a Friday arvy and playing till Sunday night. Ahhh the good old gaming days. (How much cooler would it have been now with flat screens?)
Most of my other gaming mates that live nearby can't game for long periods of time... bunch of sooks. They apparently have lives to live and [&@%!].....

I will have a party with me, my PC and the game. The party should last about an hour, or if I lose track of time could be 12+ hours or until my head hits the desk.

Sounds great! I already have that Friday off though, because of Veterans' Day. I think I'm feeling a fever coming on though. I may have to stay home on the 14th and 15th.IVA Jakel wrote:me and my roommate will both call in sick that friday, go and pick up our games when the store opens. come home and set up our xboxes and flatscreens next to eachother in our appartment and start playing the [&@%!] out of it:) the day before it comes out we will stock up on the essentials including but not limited to: tobaco, cola, chips, hotwings, redbull and beer:D we have but one rule.. Re: Will you have a Skyrim release party?
I was actually going to ask if Veteran's Day was a public holiday. Remembrance Day isn't in Australia, but I can live with that. Friday night is good enough for me, provided that they actually release it here 11.11.11. (I need to go check if it's an international launch or something like that).

Haha nah that's not the reason, we're 21 and 20, he's just not the type of guy to get really into games. Think the most he's gotten into the story of any would be Halo etc.FrostMage79x wrote:You mean the kids who write "can you do this on xbox?" in the comments section of a PC Oblivion LP/gameplay?S13Kuro wrote:Lol I've only really got one mate who's into TES. haha. My friends and I have already asked off work through the 15th. They're each bringing their computers/systems and tvs over and we're going to play for days straight in my living room! So pumped.

It makes me wonder what other (console) game people have done all this for upon release?
I certainly have NEVER anticipated a game this much. (Though as a kid I did love Madden)
I thought RAGE was gonna be able to hold me over... no chance of that now.

Re: Will you have a Skyrim release party?
Know what you mean. I haven't been so eager to get into a game before. Spesh since I've got my nice new PC set up just sitting there begging for some dragons to go virtually slaughter. My sneaky Argonian can't grace this screen soon enough. Just imagine... That first cutscene introducing us into the game, it's gonna be so good. Beth's seriously gonna just leave every other developer in it's wake.

Hmm... I dunno. All my friends are gaga over Skyrim now... but I don't know about a party.
I mean, its a single player game.

I just moved to Mexico, where I don't know anyone and my only job is to click buttons on a computer. Needless to say I'm locking my self away for a week and playing skyrim to my thumbs fall off.
