Don't worry about that.
Copy that file, then go down to the start menu, and type %appdata% into the search box.

If you want help installing 1.8, follow these instructions:

1. Well, go to this link first, and go down to where it says Client, and click to download it.

If you have Google Chrome, it will ask you if you wish to save it.
Click save.

2. Then go to your Downloads folder, and find the Minecraft.jar or if it just says Minecraft, that's fine too.

3. Copy that file, then go down to the start menu, and type %appdata% into the search box.

4. Once you're there, find the .minecraft folder, then go to the bin folder.

5. Once you've gotten into the bin folder, paste the minecraft.jar into that folder.
If it asks you to overwrite anything, say yes.
Then, if you have a desktop shortcut, then click it, and you'll be good to go!
(Also, it will say Version 1.7.3 before you log in. Don't worry about that.)

I just saw my first Enderman on creative mode whilst in an underwater ravine and an ambient sound effect came at the same time which combined to scare the whatevers out of me. Yes it was on creative mode, yes it was therefore harmless. But any pairs of eyes taking you by surprise while deep underwater is enough to creep you out!

Thought I would share these here for anyone that doesn't know how to set up the 1.8 Pre-Release, or just doesn't feel like it, or just wants some solid entertainment. The Yogscast takes you through some of the new features of 1.8 in typical Simon and Lewis fashion.

There is no Solar Armageddon anymore. Just simple PvP.
