No, for two reasons: I can't afford it, and I've never bought the super special ultimate collector's limited edition of anything.

How much you want to bet the dragon statues will be up on eBay a week after the release?A Noble Thief wrote:Strategy guide will be sold everywhere when this game is launched so dont worry about it if you want it, however i did hear the price tag is also because of how rare the CE actually is, theirs not gonna be many out there and some stores where i live have already took down the CE from their websites for pre order as it has more than likely been ordered by everyone.

I shall not succumb. My father's the one with a fondness for dragon statues. I simply prefer bladed weaponry.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

I won't be able to buy anything else for, like, a year, but in five years I'll be glad as hell I bought it.
P.S. I have the collector's edition pre-ordered.

Re: Are you getting the Collector's Edition?
The price is way too high for what they include, better to wait for a GOTY edition and let all the bugs get worked out. Yes the statue is nice, but you can just buy it on ebay within a week of the games release. I plan on spending my money on a new PC + Kingdoms of Amalur before getting involved in Skyrim. I have barely scratched the surface of Oblivion so I see no need to rush out and get Skyrim on 11/11/11.

Re: Are you getting the Collector's Edition?
I think it's much too expensive for what it contains; I'm sure the artbook contains a lot of great stuff, but I just don't think that game artbooks have any real value as collector's items, same goes really even for the busts/statuettes that a lot of games include.
A Collector's Edition should contain items that are able to have real collector value, either that or they should just be limited editions, with enough extras to justify the price. I don't feel that the Skyrim Collector's Edition fits either of those.
I'd have happily paid the price tag if it had come with a selection of in-game items (expanded books, coins, soul-gems, that kind of things), with a proper canvas map, map tools (dividers, compass), and a skyrim-esque bag/satchel. Basically if they'd gone for an Adventurer's Edition they'd have had me easily, but I don't see anything in this Collector's edition that's truly worth collecting, nice to have maybe, but not £90's worth of nice to have.

Re: Are you getting the Collector's Edition?
To be honest i wouldn't like to bet much, although if you think the CE is priced way to high i would imagine people who would put the dragon statue on ebay will price it through the roof, plus i dont reakon many will put it on ebay anyway.AreteThorne wrote:How much you want to bet the dragon statues will be up on eBay a week after the release?A Noble Thief wrote:Strategy guide will be sold everywhere when this game is launched so dont worry about it if you want it, however i did hear the price tag is also because of how rare the CE actually is, theirs not gonna be many out there and some stores where i live have already took down the CE from their websites for pre order as it has more than likely been ordered by everyone.

I'm gonna be getting the EB Games edition. But no way I'd fork out 200 for the CE. That's just crazy talk. In Aussie dollars, a new game, to me is worth about 80. Adding 120 to that for what they're offering is just stupid.

Re: Are you getting the Collector's Edition?
I'm getting the JB edition, because I don't exactly want the posters when I can get the Game Guide. In Aussie Dollars, I'd pay up to about $100 for a new game of Skyrim's enormity, but we Aussies get overcharged on everything anyway, so I'm kind of used to it.S13Kuro wrote:I'm gonna be getting the EB Games edition. Re: Are you getting the Collector's Edition?
I was getting it but I changed my mind since I also want Dark Souls and there was no way that I could afford both. So I got a deal where they include the guide with the game so I'm just paying 54 pounds instead.
A hero can be anyone, even a man doing some as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended.

Re: Are you getting the Collector's Edition?
Oooh I hadn't seen that. Yeah looking at it I'd rather the guide rather than the 4 cards, blank notebook and steel case EB gives ya. Honestly the map is the coolest bit of it I think anyway, I wanna frame it. Same price basically too. And the guides usually go for like 50. Thanks for the tip off.OblivionDuruza wrote:I'm getting the JB edition, because I don't exactly want the posters when I can get the Game Guide. I think (not positive though) is that the big book is of concept art and stuff not a walkthrough guide book

What will the price of Skyrim be after it's release?
At EB Games to pre-order is $108 for consoles and $88 for PC...?

Re: Are you getting the Collector's Edition?
Not getting it. I read somewhere the quality of the statue isn't worth the price. And the only other thing worth mentioning is just a bunch of pictures. I'm sure they'll look great, but not $100 extra great.

Re: Are you getting the Collector's Edition?
I went into my local game store a few days ago to check on all of my pre-orders and they told me since I had Skyrim on pre-order since April they had put me down for a collectors edition! I was ecstatic. Until they told me that I was still going to have to pay a whopping $199 AUD for the privilege! ( at the current exchange rate that's 204.60 US dollars.) I still haven't decided if I'm going to fork out that much for it. What price is the collectors edition going for in other countries?
