Odd Thieves Guild glitch [SPOILERS!]

So, I was doing to final thieves guild quest when I got caught. No biggie, I though, I already have The Elder Scroll. So, I ran back to the way out, under the best defense. I then exit the door, and made a break for the safe house. The owner of the house was waiting outside, and he confroted the guards and died. The quest marker was green and pointed to directly outside the house. I then went in, and the marker turned red. I ran upstairs to talk to the grey fox, but he was nowhere to be seen. The an imperial guard game in and kill mendil (Is that her name?). He was follow by a palace guard who attack me. Then the game started make odd screeching noises, and it crashed soon after. What was this glitch and why did it happen?[

If you get caught after you have the Elder Scroll, the guards will chase you and you'll be stuck in combat mode... unable to fast travel, rest, or wait—even if you pay off your fines.

This is a known bug, and the only way to correct it, is to load a previous save, before you are detected/caught.

Wait thats a bug? I always thgout it was there on pououse as its you know a unforgivable crime

A little bird told me that if you pay your fine and go to prison you will still leave with the Elder Scroll and be able to deliver it to the Gray Fox. I'm not sure if this is true but it may be worth a try if your previous save is some way back?

I did that. However, when I reloaded to do this, I was lacking the boots of springheel jack, and there where dead NPC bodies where the enemies should have been in the part after you

I always save before i start this quest. It has so many problems.
I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.

I had no problems with the thieves guild questline.
When I first started the game there was a glitch or something that stopped me from stealing the ring from the countess so I had to start a new game to get through the thieves guild because I tried everything but the ring wouldn't show up anywhere.
Other than that one time I had no problems with it at all.
