but if its the former then it depends on the mod. Some of the more developed ones may have self installers but many require other mods to function and installation requires physically copying the mod files into the minecraft.jar.

Then again most mod threads on the official forums have an installation guide and usually a helpful video. Just make sure that before installing a mod back up your worlds. I have had too many bad experiences with otherwise brilliant mods due to my own ineptness at backing up saves. I suppose that's just what happens with a game with no official modding support, yet.

I'm talking about difficulty and memory. Is it hard or easy to install?

Also, I mainly want the airship mod. It looks so cool!

If so it looks relatively straightforward to install. You need to install "Modloader" first which is actually the more complex part. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/754 ... k-updated/ <--- It's somewhere on this page.

Installation for both of these are on the two pages I linked to.
Once you have installed Modloader I think the zeppelin mod just needs to be put into a "mods" folder that Modloader creates.
