Re: How should Alduin destroy the world?
@Dark Spark, or he could just melt the Ross Ice Shelf, or at least, break it away and send it floating out to see. This would cause the poles to shift, sending the earth off it's axis and killing most of everything on it (although granted probably not everything) in the resulting tremors.
Oh wait, we're talking Nirn. Does Nirn have poles?

Nirn dosn't go around anything. It floats in the void of oblivion. The "Sun" and other starts are just punctures in the veil of Oblivion.Dark Spark wrote:All he has to do is to stop making the world go around.
Think of it— stop the sun and the stars from wheeling around in the sky above. One half of the world is plunged into eternal night only to become a frozen waste, the other half left to bake under the relentless heat until nothing but desert remains.
No we don't, but we can assume it is because the Aedra and Daedra have spheres, and they probably built nirn like they built their own planets.mars wrote:We don't even know if Nirn is a sphere

I think the "spheres" of the gods mean "realm" rather than the shape.

I would love Daedric involvement, as there are certainly Daedric Princes that would be ideal for manipulating factions, sowing confusion and so-on.
It would also make sense as a possible way to "eat" the world; by causing it to be consumed by Oblivion, no longer happily protected it's in little bubble. Once the world is shattered to pieces by the struggle over it within Oblivion, it would be a simple matter of reassembling all the pieces to re-create the world.

'Tis the truth. But I don't really think the physical side of things will effect Alduin's ability to destroy the world.mars wrote:I think the "spheres" of the gods mean "realm" rather than the shape.

None of 'em, Alduin the "World Eater" anyone?
How about if he, I don't know, ATE the world?

"World eater" is most likely a metaphor.

Anyhow, don't mind me I don't know what's come over me /offtopicness

Don't worry about it, I usually go off topic as well. But now let's focus on the big bad!
I can't believe no one supports my idea of the burning moon! We've already seen pictures of it!

I don't know if that's the moon burning as such. It's kind of like our northern lights, the aurora borealis. At least in my eyes. But it's got 3 votes, so some people must support it

Re: How should Alduin destroy the world?
Yeah yeah I know, which masks the burning moon. Alduin is a sneaky [&@%!]! And I'm glad my idea's got some support, I just wish I knew how to mod in case I'm wrong (which I won't be, of course)

Um that "fiery moon" of yours is accualy a harcest moon happening at the same time as the northern lights at least in my opinion because up in canada (i don't know about anywhere else) you can sometimes be lucky enough to see it

Re: How should Alduin destroy the world?
I chose End the Timeline out of those. I figure it'd be the ultimate power of the 'God of Time' to be able to control the start and end of it. Why bother fighting people when you can just erase them from existence? Although, is he really the God of Time? Can he really do that? Or will our Dragonborn shout him out of the sky like a rocket launched at a helicopter, sending him hurtling towards his slayer?

I thought Akatosh was the god of time?!
Anyways... Have you seen that movie where some tunnel diggers find (and awake) a dragon in a tunnle and a few years later, the dragons had spread all over the world, praying on humans? I've lost the name of it though...

Re: How should Alduin destroy the world?
Alduin sounds like the TES version of Fenrir, the Norse wolf who was chained by the gods to prevent him eating the world. Fenrir was the son of Loki (god of fire and lies), and giantess Agbrooa (i think). When Fenrir is freed, he will join with his allies to lay low the world of Gods and Men, his top jaw will touch the skies, his chin the earth, and he shall devour Odin and bring about Ragnarok. Odins son Visar, god of vengence, is foretold to slay Fenrir and so bring about the dawn of Man
so i think Alduin will cause a load of havoc by bringing all the enemies of the peoples of Mundus into an almighty fight; Alduin will kill a divine ally whoever that might be - perhaps Dovakhin has recruited powerful friends during the main plotline and we're all expecting a Martin vs Mehrunes fight (Beth like to incorporate ideas from fans and a load of us have said we didnt like Martin getting all the Dagon action in Oblivion, so..)- but the ally will be killed, leaving you - me - Dovakhiin - to destroy Alduin in a humungous fight the likes of which no computer game has ever seen (or will ever see until TES5).
and when his friends lay broken about him and all hope fled.. and when the Destroyer stepped forth to claim his victory, then the dragon born did raise his bloody sword for the final time and did thwart his malice. And his deeds were witnessed by none for none remained to stand at his side; but the Hall of Epochs will hold the account of the Dragon Born's final fight, to the end of time

Re: How should Alduin destroy the world?
How will Alduin destroy the world? With lag, of course. Alduin will cause enough lag to destroy whatever system you're playing on. It makes sense, doesn't it? After all, Alduin is supposed to be the nordic version of Akatosh, the dragon god of time.

Alduin will destroy the world wth a huge fire fart. I mean, he is a dragon isn`t he?
That was kind of immature I know, but I couldn`t resist, sorry. Anyway he`ll probably try to gather all his power to end time, or whatever. You`ll try to stop him gathering power, fail, and then help someone else to have a fight with him, then they bith die. MQ done.

Re: How should Alduin destroy the world?
What Alduin is really going to do is: Go to the future (he has got some kind time manipulating power so) gather up some amazing weapons (most notably, the Deathstar) and BOOM, like Alderaan Mundus will be destroyed in milliseconds (or it would have been, if it wasn't for that pesky main character, who is supposed to win all the time!)

I kind of like the Rebecka Black idea, but roleplayers would hate it. Besides, I bet Family Guy has already made that joke.
