Re: Is it Tiber Septim or Talos
The Nedes are not descended from the Nords or vice versa. They were common across Tamriel before they were absorbed into the Nordic and other more modern populaces. The Cyrodiils are their closest known descendants/relatives. No mention is made of them ever coming from Atmora, where the Nords came from, and where Talos is said to have been born.

Re: Is it Tiber Septim or Talos
You read that on the wiki page for the Underking, and I'd be highly inclined to disagree (the author was likely thinking of a half-baked Shezarrine theory). I've been meaning to write an article on the subject for some time to clear up the confusion, but finding legitimate references will be tricky, as will separating fact from speculation.Anonymous98223 wrote:i read somewhere that the Underking, Tiber Septim and that one nord Tiber was knew all make up the oversoul that is called Talos. And even in morrowind im pretty sure i saw some labeled Tiber eptim instead of Talos.
And again I'd just like to point out that you shouldn't look too deep into these "shrines to Tiber Septim", as they were corrected to Talos with the KotN plug-in.

Okay, but i think that the howl oversoul thing is a cool idea, even thou it might not be true. And i thought lore wise that all humans except for redgaurds came from atmora, maybe they wernt called needs there but isnt that true? seeing hows the description for atmora is one of the original homelands of men.

Re: Is it Tiber Septim or Talos
Sorry Anon, but the Nedes were natives, amongst many other native men races. I'll link you to some other places when I get home, just for more background. But there is no link between the Nedes and Atmora, as far as Lore.

Also, on Tiber, there are also claims he was simply a Nord born in High Rock, so he may not even be Atmoran, but simply a full blooded Nord.

The Nedes are presented as yet another of these groups, and no mention is made of their having come from Atmora. Here, it can be surmised that the Nedic people are indigenous, and racially unrelated to those of Atmoran descent.

Re: Is it Tiber Septim or Talos
The fact that there's confusion and interconnecting details between the religions IRL, Talos/Tiber being a prime example is just evidence of the same fact in TES world. If the Imperials and Nords etc were real people, they'd have similar disagreements, with no real way of settling it definitively.

Yes i found them interesting and they are a good example of that different strokes approach i talked about.Trelares wrote:Depends on what you belief, commonly Talos is Tiber Septim. However there exist some books which normally clasified as heresy that say other things. Like Talos is the oversoul of Tiber, Zurin and the Underking.

Talos sends out magical little puffs of blue when you touch his altars. If that's not proof of his existence, I don't know what is.S13Kuro wrote:Or an imaginary friend created and subsequently embraced by lonely individuals.

Re: Is it Tiber Septim or Talos
while he is probably real in TES blue puffs could be the result of a spell or echantment, a mage could of just put a spell pn the alter to do that and bless who evers near by.

Re: Is it Tiber Septim or Talos
I highly doubt that Talos is not 'real', although I have wondered where exactly he attained his divine power from. The remnants of Shezzar's power? (the Tribunal achieved their power from Lorkhan, so perhaps it is possible)

'Just is' seems to be the popular explanation of most religious beliefs, doubt this would be much different.

Re: Is it Tiber Septim or Talos
True, but in this case, Talos is so ingrained in the culture that it is highly plausible. Seeing as Tiber Septim was a real person, and we know he is Divine, from the Oblivion Questline, in which his armour is used to attain the Blood of the Divines.

Re: Is it Tiber Septim or Talos
maybe he filled shezzars missing spot in the nine divines, maybe if that spot hadnt been filled the world would of became unstable or something so Shezzar or Akatosh or something made him divine.
