Re: Alduin
I hope he'll be somewhat like a Reaper or THE reaper (Mass Effect or Discworld novels)
He knows exactly what he is doing and why he is doing it (he is a god) and you have to stop him for the sake of every living being in Mundus.
Either that or like The Beast from inFamous, who has a clear motivation that even the player can understand.

Re: Alduin
why do we play this game, if you guys want to be pacifists, honestly I'm not even sure what half of you people see in these series, in the literal sense.
If you don't want to kill dragons, soldiers, trolls, etc, and go on awesome rampages with intricate stories and missions just to pay it off with some text rather than action, whats the point of playing?
Sides Hes a Dragon and a God, but more importantly the villain, there will be no negotiation, this isn't New Vegas, where its all up to you to make choices for EVERY scenario.
He's the villain, he will die, and thats that, I don't know what other situation could play out.

That's not really what we're discussing though. We're talking about what kind of villain he will be. I think most people expect him to die in the end.Da_BossMaN69 wrote:why do we play this game, if you guys want to be pacifists, honestly I'm not even sure what half of you people see in these series, in the literal sense.

I hope so, because I don't Bethseda getting the wrong idea for fututre titles. still though I think everyone is viewing him as being a tragic, sensible villain, I hardly think thats the case, and woflie, he is a God, let it go this has been confirmed like several times already.

his story conflicts with Akatosh they both cant be right
one says he made it by him self (aduin) and that he had made another world before this (and even more) and that he fought lohkan twice
And Akatosh did not, plus we know that the nords worshiped nomral Dragons as Gods, so how do we know he really is a God?
in the sense of ultmat power?
if they worshiped other dragons as Gods why cant he just be another dragon?

few problems his story of creation is not the same either akatosh is wrong or aduin is wrong they both could not have made the world, as one did it by him self and the other did notDa_BossMaN69 wrote:the damn website your on says so, I can't put it any more bluntly.

Umm one had to be the one that created the worlds, this is not like in our world where they are just myths (in most cases)legoless wrote:Each culture has their own creation myth. Neither of them are wrong.
We know God's are real in TES and we know that Oblivion (the realms) where made
now if we belive Aduin that means the other Gods never helped AND that Aduin had made worlds efore while other Gods, dont have the power for this
one has to be wrong it cant be
the eight made the wrold
and just aduin made the world

Re: Alduin
I'm not sure you're comprehending the situation. None of the stories are fact. It is left up to the player to interpret which parts are "true".Wolfie wrote:Umm one had to be the one that created the worlds, this is not like in our world where they are just myths (in most cases)

On a side note, the Eight Divines didn't make Mundus. Arkay was a mortal.

Re: Alduin
Thats where your wrong, in this lore one is true, after all, if none of them made the world then the seven should have all their power but they dont, we also see proof of lohkan, this is not a both sides are metphores
one did one did not
The Gods are real, as such one story is real one is false, they may leave us to intpertate it but really they cant,
unless we dont kill aduin be like if they showed the evens of morrwind with who killed their leader
we know both cant be right one is one is wrong
Besides that we know that Akatosh gave the amulet to saint (name exscapes me), we know they have a connavet with Some god's, or really powerful beings
We also know that God's are physicaly real in this world, as such its not like in this world where you can have a billion and they all could be wrong
there is proof that Gods are real in TES
We also know that nords worhsiped evrey day dragons as God's and Aduin is a dragon

Re: Alduin
I think you are forgetting that Alduin has the power to tear the world apart. That right there is a sign that he might be a bit more than just a big dragon. We've all seen ES gods actually using their powers to do this or that. Destroying the WORLD seems like something nothing beneath a god would be able to do, since godly intervention so far has been kind of lackluster when compared to DoomsDay powers. Whether he is Akatosh or not is probably something we will only know for sure when the game is released, but personally I have no doubt that he is a god.

Re: Alduin
You're forgetting the human race
Slowly, but surely, we're getting there.
Re: Alduin
Duke Thadon of Mania meets you atop the highest peak and hands you a sacred chalice of bitter-brewed bungler's bane tea from the bitter coast of Vvardenfell. Masser and Secunda seem to change orbits and revolve around eachother in a merry dance. Time seems to stretch on as if in a dream--
Like a celestial sperm, Alduin splurts out between the moons, and descends upon the peak, squashing Thadon in sacrifice. With many a cutting jib and thrust/parry/thrust, and 5 successive QTE sequences, you drive sword into Alduin's brain-mush. Alduin's spirit speaks to you telepathically that it is you who were the world eater all along, and that he was the Dragonborn. (I mean, literally, duh! We thought "World-Eater" was literal, but "Dragonborn" was just fluffy hyperbole? How wrong we were.)
The moons get bigger as they continue to dance toward Mundus. Without the massive dragon to buffet the moons away with his impressive wings, you realize you have just destroyed Tamriel. GG.

Re: Alduin
Thadon already took one to the nose though... I messed that %^$#@ up. The general concept however, I like. Would totally spin the entire main quest on it's head. You missed the part where Mufasa bellows down fatherly advice however. And the prancing, rhyming, small, orange people secretly plotting future events, but you weren't far off.

that would be a fitting end to TES to be honest, I never EVER liked the way those moons looked, always haunting, If I could Id cut those sack of testes in half.

Re: Alduin
It'd be a pretty good cliff hanger to end on. And make the next game the subject of speculation to no end. What exactly would we see after it all? Once the world's rebuilt etc. Is it just Skyrim which gets reset or the entire planet?
Re: Alduin
It would be a great twist, but if it happened how would we play on after the main quest? I think that detail makes it unlikely.S13Kuro wrote:It'd be a pretty good cliff hanger to end on.
