DLC to be released on Xbox360 1st

Post by River »

Apparently Xbox will get the first to DLC 1st! :( As a PS3 user can't deny i'm disapointed.

Anyway here is the source.

This is what it says:
The first two pieces of that content will arrive exclusively on Xbox Live Marketplace at least "30 days before it's available anywhere else." Bethesda revealed the news this morning via press release, which also indicated we'll see more than two "add-on content drops" for Skyrim after the game launches.
One of the two Skyrim information/compilation heroes of UESP!

Eurogamer wrote:The first two downloadable add-ons for fantasy role-playing game The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 for 30 days after release, Microsoft has announced.

After that exclusivity window the DLC is free to go live on PC and PlayStation Network.

No further details were offered on the add-ons. The game itself launches in November.

The decision follows similar Xbox 360 windows of exclusivity for Bethesda's Fallout.

Shame it is a timed exclusive because I also play on PS3. :(

Why is evrey one mad? your actting like any Pc, or p3s has not done this when they have plenty of times.
many Dlc's got to one place first and THEN get releazed to the others
whats the big deal here? the fact that it just happens to be microsoft this time?

With Skyrim being such a huge game: 30 days isn't going to matter.

I have an Xbox but it just gathers dust, theres no way i'm buying Skyrim for that thing it sounds like a tractor in the middle of my room, i guess i could wait a month while you guy's over on Xbox report some bugs :p its just the fact that Microsoft do this as if to make people who play PS3 and PC go and run out and buy an Xbox, tools.

you do realize ALL componys do that right?
its not just for other peppole to bbuy it

#1 it cuts back on how many pepole complain "there are to many gltichs" as they can fix the glitches in that one and find the generic gltichs and fix them, of couse they cant fix the ps3 or pc gltiches but still

Computers and PS3 both pull stunts like this all the time but since its not microsoft is okay

That's just stupid wolfie, there is nothing stopping the developers from giving the DLC plenty of testing to then be released on all platforms. Using the Xbox as a lab rat is not what there doing, Microsfot pay them for a months exclusivity, they do it on Call of Duty as well, its no coincidence.

yes there is the game makers do not get to say how long they can work on things pepole give them delines
its why a lot of games have gltiches even when they first come out, not even counting the open ended games, becuse the game makers dont get to pick how long

Also its not stupied its very common

look at any mutiplatform game you will find that they do this a LOT not just microsoft
Componys have paid for Exclusive but even so they still use it as a lab rat (lab rat means they test with it)

As I said
we get the game DLC first but we get all the glitches and then when it comes out most of them will be gone for you, uless its only on your system

Wow, the people over at Beth are such sell-outs. I know I'm not gonna be legitimately purchasing the DLC when it comes to PC.

Incorrect. They won't release a buggy version, or if they do they won't fix it.

After deciphering you're last message i have to disagree mate, yes they do have deadline's, but devs can go over it as often as they want, they just dont get bonuses when they do, and when the bonues consist of brand new cars and mortgages being paid off on their houses for them then believe me they will ship the game out in peices regardless, but this is a marketing scheme for Xbox nothing more nothing less.

So if someone came over and offerd you even more money to do what ever it is you do for them first
your a sell out?
I don't know about you but in all bunssnies if you did not acpet that deal you would soon be out of a job
Incorrect. They won't release a buggy version, or if they do they won't fix it.
Any proof to this claim?
mine is look at the history of Dlc and gsmes they releaze the first patch within a mnth that takes care of a lot of biugs

this is not 100% true, yes, they can miss a a deadline or two, but its like any other job miss to many and your out of a job. Also most game makers can not buy a new car with their pay checks.

And as for markting schem, again, even if it is, PC and ps3 have both done this so if this makes you hate microsoft so much then why not also hate them?

Your delusional, when i was working back at Sony, the devs and producers where seeing £100,000 - £70,000 anually and thats just their basic wage, their bonuses consisted of Mortgages being paid off, new cars, holidays and thousand of pounds bonuses in cash, i imagine beths bonuses to be alot better since their TES titles are multiplatinum status on sales. As for a marketing scheme, name a PS3 title that has had exclusive DLC before?
