Races and their social classes

Post by Assassin540 »

Im wondering what races you guy's think are the more poor lower class races and what races do you think are the more noble upper class races now remember this is just the majority of the race?

This is what I think

Upper Class:Imperial,High Elf,Breton,Redguard
Lower Class:Argonian,Khajit,Orc,Nord,Dark Elf,Wood elf,

Dunmer aren't lower class just look at how rich lots of them are in Morrowind. The majority of beast races do seem to be less well off then Mer or Men. I would also say most Redguards and Nords are more middle class. I'm not sure about Orcs or Bosmer. Still there is diversity of socio-economic class in every race.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

There's a range of socio-economic factors at play, beyond simply race, but I guess sterotypically, your beast races are the poorest, and your Imperials in Cyrodiil are amongst the wealthier ones, with Altmer and Dunmer also rather well off in many cases, although not all of these races are rich, far from it.

I think all beast races would be considered lower class including orcs, while imperials and elves etc. would be thought of as higher class although not all the time.

It depends where they are. In Argonia, Argonians are going to be High Class, but in Morrowind - well we know what happens.

I dislike the slightly racist slavery undertone there pomcy Image :P If you want evil, look at the Ayleids.

Anyhow, even in Black Marsh, the Imperials would still probably still well off. From The Infernal City, we can guess that even though Black Marsh has seceded, there are still many low class Imperials.

In fact, I'd say that in the home province of any given race, you'll find that they are not necessarily wealthier or better off, but rather, that they over all socio-economic statuses, much more than any other race.

Less so in Cyrodiil, but we can see it in the demographics of Morrowind and to some degree in Oblivion.
