Bodies??

Post by Thunderstruck elf »

In oblivion, when a person died, the body would lay there for a while, then disappear when you were gone. As far as I know, no gravestones or anything. Since skyrim is viking-like, what if they had funeral pyres?? Or in non-Nord cities, have a predetermined spot where the person's grave would appear? What do you think?

Well, they had tombstones in New Sheoth, but I doubt they'll do anything different from Oblivion Vanilla, though.
Oh, I just had a thought... Whiterun appears to be based on Edoras. Perhaps there will be small barrows outside the gate?

Ehm... I know that most of the graves I'm about to mention belong to unknown identities... but the entire Green Emperor Way was covered in graves. So... graves were featured, not just in the Shivering Isles, but also in Oblivion.
Anyway I do not expect Bethesda to make a trigger for each NPC adding either a funeral pyre or a gravestone for that particular NPC (if they should perish) - it would be a nice tiny detail to immerse us in the game, but it would be very boring to be the programmer responsible for that.

Maybe after awhile, if you killed someone in the middle of the woods, it could show a corpse. Then if you visit later, perhaps a skeleton?
Then after it's all rotted and dead, the cell could reset and have it disappear?

Sounds like a great mod idea! But in vanilla Skyrim, I highly doubt it.

Yeah I know, I was thinking of a "labeled" gravestone. It would be boring, probably, but looking at other Bethesda games, it might be the kind of thing they would do anyway.
