There has been a flurry of new info and features revealed in the past two days.
Which new info or features are you most excited about?
Here are 25 things that that have me going
- joinable Rebel faction
- pickpocket skill provides greater RP opportunities and much more realistic thievery for thieves
- myriad options for facepaint
- char gen remembers your settings when switching to different races
- even minor NPCs have much more complexity and depth compared with Oblivion
- you can persuade various random NPCs to accompany you and they feel like fleshed out, interesting companions
- there are six different stages to crafting items (refining crude ore, assembling materials, not sure what the other 4 stages are but it sounds a hell of a lot more complex than Oblivion and Morrowind crafting)
- more realistic alchemy labs instead of spamming health potions in the middle of a dungeon
- in addition to alchemy ingredients there are also reagents (more complex alchemy system than Oblivion)
- some spells you find as spell tomes and others you purchase from merchants, but spells definitely not perks
- hand to hand attacks have a much improved gravity and physicality
- the first encounter with Rebel soldiers (Stormcloaks) escorting a prisoner sounds AWESOME - you can choose various options, like setting the prisoner free, giving him a sword, etc. Quests in general sound like there are more ways to complete them
- Bosmer look better than in Oblivion
- traveling merchants camp beside rivers
- you can learn Alchemy by trial and error, tasting unknown ingredients or making potions with unknown effects
- lockpicking mini-game improved
- Bards confirmed in Falkreath
- MYSTERIOUS BLACK DOOR!!!!
- you can hold onto your perk slots instead of choosing a perk at each level up
- you can add laugh lines in character generator
- you can give a Dunmer one red and one gray eye in the character generator
- loading screens look cool
- after murdering innocents in Falkreath Hold, the PC in one of the demos crossed the border into White Hold and no one bothered him
Hi! I am a UESPF Moderator and you can PM me with any concerns you have, no matter how trivial. You can also use the report button - a feature that draws attention to a certain post and allows us to offer our own input.
I am really looking in to the thievery upgrades, I love being a thief but Oblivion was always 'No, people can see you, you are behind a DOOR and people still see you. Detect Life much ?'
;3
Can I mod finally make me a confirmed user? I'm pretty sure I done everything for a while now and still can't do things.
Black Door! But really there is just soooooo much! November is too far away. I can't wait for that first moment when you step into the open world. Like coming out of the sewers in Oblivion or out of the Vault in Fallout. That feeling of "wow...so where do I wana go". It's the best.
Bootysweat, everytime you make a new thread you get me all excited again, damn you. Anyway i'm looking forward to duel wielding daggers with my Assassin Character, and everything in that list, i just have one question, how will duel blades be holsted/sheafed?
equipping my destruction spells in my hands, instead of being an accessory to warrior style combat, as just an addition, its a full blown weapon now. also, dual wielding spells, and being able to combine them for greater effects. i can't wait to be a destruction/restoration battlemage with blade/block/blunt weapons. i am excited!!!
Not changing this until Skyrim comes out, and even then, I'll probably be too busy... playing Skyrim...
Thanks for sifting through all those articles for us Booty .
There's just one thing I'm confused about.

Previously I made a thread for discussing all the features that we know are different from Oblivion.
This thread is completely different, actually - we are discussing only some completely brand new features that we learned about in the past 2 days.

Wouldn't it be easier to access all this great information in one thread?
I don't see why this thread should be combined with any other threads.
We are discussing the recent flurry of brand new information and which new features are most exciting. This thread is not a comparison of all the thousands of differences between Skyrim and Oblivion.
When I booted up Oblivion for the first time and had watched the breath-taking intro I spent over an hour experimenting with the sliders to make my Argonian look as I wanted. It was so ambient and I was enchanted. I know I'm going to spend atleast 2 hours tweaking my Skyrim character to perfection.
I'll be trying to learn how to control an Elder scrolls game on my Xbox, since my computer would implode and explode (at ONCE!) if I installed it here.
Then, I'd travel to a city, earn some money and talk to the people to see what's going on. Oh, and magic, lots of it.
I used to make polls, but then I took an arrow in the knee.
