How to kill without bounty or sneaking

Post by Wouldntyouliketoknow »

Whenever someone finds out i play Oblivion they usually ask a rhetorical question:
"How do you kill without a bounty?"

Well i have an answer... and most of you might know it but maybe not.
Simple really...fast travil to bravil and head to the mages guild, talk to Delphine Jend and buy "Touch of Rage" for about 30-40gold. Make sure you have enough illusion skill for it though, you need 25+ illusion. its a frenzy spell up to level 18 on touch, dont worry that its on touch...that actually makes it more convenient. Then head to anyone (except guards) and cast the frenzy spell, if your casting it on the mages guild members in bravil make sure you cast it on ALL of them or else it might not work, head outside and try it on anyone(just one will work) and then theyll either attack you or attack someone else but either way the guards will come and kill them or you can kill them. Make sure you kill them while the spell is active though or else you do get that major bounty.

P.S. Why did i say not on the guards? because the spell has no effect on the guards, and even if it did you would still be attacking a guard and the guards are never the bad guys. also, you can get the mages guild to kill the guards if the guards come in to stop the fight and then you can get arrows and gold(maybe a better weapon if your just starting).

Next thing: about the touch of rage in the mages guild, if you get them all to the battle royale phase then when one of them is damaged enough they wont be dead, theyll just be unconcious so you dont have to worry about ruining a quest...but they can still kill guards
touch of rage is only 9 magicka so feel free to let loose and raise your illusion at the same time 8)

Also... ill be making a short post in a new thread on infinite iron arrows....eventually... :D

Without 50+ Illusion, just botch the stealth part of the hackdirt quest and kill whoever attacks you. Or a bit harder, finish Arena with the Gray Prince quest part.
There once was a Prince named Mehrunes

‘Twas an odiferous song
People sang before long
They had enough of his full crescent moons.

I was mistaken, i checked my spells book and you only need to be an apprentice(25+) to cast touch of rage.

What about Hackdirt, that place just south of Chorrol? what about it? i know i didnt mention it...just wondering where you came out with hackdirt.

These people attack you if you enter their "sanctum" during the ritual, so you can lawfully kill them in self-defense. Despite this, it counts as a murder.

I don't like the rage spells :? I mean i know their useful for certain times, but there's nothing that can't be accomplished with plenty of patience and stalking your character! It's so much more fun that way i find!... I must admit, somtimes i have lost my cool and just butchered them in the middle of the talos plaza district...jeesze that was a akward DB quest!

Heh, my case was better. That travelling merchant, master of Destruction. I met him on the Black Ring Road, right north of Weye, and... uh, I didn't manage kill him. The mountain lion had him first. Oh well, contract done.

This one was stronger than my hit, it seems. I mean, target for a Black Hand quest, supposedly a master of Destruction, and now this... Come on, DB quests are way too easy!

I wish i could go and recrute people like lucien did to me! I mean, at top rank, we do nothing save for getting the odd name every week! Thats boring! Open up the rest of these so-called sancturaries and let me go enlist people to populate them!! Now THAT would be fun :P

Wouldntyouliketoknow isn't talking about the best ways to get into the Dark Brotherhood without getting a bounty, rather just killing people in general without getting a bounty.

Good tip.
